naku po, these so called traffic enforcers kuno, hindi naman nakakatulong sa traffic instead sila pa ang nag caucause ng traffic, kasi mahilig mag flag down ng private vehicles, they are always on the look out for private cars who will violate rather than really directing traffic. kung baga mas me pera kasi yung mga private cars, para kotongan lang huh! kaysa suwayin yung mga jeeps & buses na humihinto sa gitna ng kalye para magsakay ng pasahero, hinahayaan lang nila ang mga public vehicles since wala naman sila makukuha dun. depressing talaga!

You cannot reason out with them. I have this feeling na yung iba sa kanila hindi rin naiintindihan kung ano talaga meaning ng violation na binabato nila sa drivers. Na train kaya talaga lahat yan?

Na-train siguro sis... kaso were they really listening when they were in seminars? and feeling ko hindi naman nila mahal yung trabaho nila, or naiintindihan ang halaga ng trabaho nila, to say the least.

tama si sis enigma, grabeng perwisyo dala nila pag wala sa lugar ang pagharang nila. pahihintuin ka talaga sa gitna ng masikip at matrapik na kalsada na kahabaan ng edsa.

one good way to deal with this is, buy a brand new SUV, have it tinted with the darkest shade possible, sabayan nyo ng customized plates.

...hindi na kayo gagalawin. hahaha

like a friend mo mine, 3 sila magkaibigan nag convoy. hindi talaga sila pinakialaman.

Madami bad experience, lalo na pag ako ang driving. LOL

1 True Story
We have a property along Timog Ave.
A few years ago, this MMDA guy would issue a violation ticket that requires us to pay up P1thou.
Some weeks, we got 2 such tickets.
The violation: the sidewalk in front of our property was "unsanitary".
Walang basura, walang parked debris/junk.
1 time, inabangan ng Guard, and challenged the MMDA guy. Tinuro ang mga dahon na obviously, did not come from our trees... dala nang hangin. Actually, while they were talking, the hangin would dagdag-bawas the leaves.

He said, after 3 weeks and over P5thou -- life would be more simple for us if we just fork over P500 every week. Kapal! (We had already sent a letter to the MMDA, deadma.)

Resolution: Into the 2nd month of racketeering up and down Timog Ave. (there must have been several of them in this racket) -- 1 MMDA guy was shot. Walang nahuli, walang nakakita. Basta there, dead on Timog Ave. in broad daylight. End of racket.

Another True Story
ENIGMA23 tama ka dyan about letting jeeps and buses sit and sit and sit and sit and block traffic.
Go to that Service Road parallel to the Greenhills Commercial Center on Ortigas Ave... starting at Connecticut and up to Annapolis. If you will turn where Wilson ends, to go to the GH Commercial, or turn Rt to enter Annapolis St..... you must use the Service Road or else... "swerving violation".

Pagpasok mo naman ng Service Road... ta-dah! the MMDA let the jeeps and buses block both lanes of the Service Road... daig mo pa ang napadpad sa procession nang patay papuntang memorial park. Sabi ko nga eh... Mr. MMDA, hindi ka lang nakipagkwentuhan sa bus driver.. naki coffee break ka pa on the bus. What is your name para masumbong kita kay Tulfo? Naku! ayaw ibigay at ang name patch eh nakatakip nang whatever nakasabit from his shoulder.
Tinakot pa ako na ako daw ang obstructing traffic.. at umakma na bigyan ako ng ticket. So monkey-see,monkey-do -- umakma din ako at tinutukan ko nang baril.

Resolution: poor road rage management per my hubby, so my license has been confiscated and hidden by hubby. Hopia.

PERO ... LOL "friends" na kami ni Mr MMDA
Pag stuck ako doon... (of course, may driver lagi, matagal tagal na din akong suspended bec. of road rage incidents... teka, saka na lang ibang cuentos.. mahaba eh kasi madami

) -- I show my face and "wave". He waves back.. and clears the way.
Ang objective ko ngayon eh kelangan maging "friends" ko din (without the need to make tutok a gun) the other MMDA there... kasi kadalasan absent si MR MMDA... hay buhay.

Good stuff na experience ko with the MMDA?
Parang tinanong ako kung virgin pa ako.

But I look forward to reading of others' good experiences with the MMDA. Baka maka sing ako nang "like a virgin, for the very 1st time".

HERROYALBLEAKNESS, hwag ka mainis ha. I am not being offensive... talaga lang wala akong good memories of the MMDA. I am sure wala din silang good memories of me.

hay naku ang mga yan. grabe di sawayin yung bus.. yung jeep especially at talaga namang di sila ginagalang kasi nga sila mismo pasaway.

nakatambay lang sila sa mga kanto kanto, sa ilalim ng puno nag aantay ng mga nag violate tapos huhuliin imbes na maging visible sila para walang mag violate. style!!!

Hinuli ako before. According to him, may violation DAW ako. Eh new driver lang ako that time, so hindi ko talaga alam yung violations. Tinakot ako nung dalawang MMDA people (kasi mag-isa lang ako nun). Kukunin daw nila license ko and it'll be suspended for more or less three months. Syempre natakot ako. They told me to pay them na lang. EH ang laki ng hinihingi nila. Sabi ba naman sa akin, "Sa ______ ka naman nag-aaral. Kaya mo yan bayaran." (Nakita kasi nila gate sticker ng school ko.) Asar diba?

I ended up paying them a huuuuge amount. I later on found out that MMDA people are not allowed to confiscate your license. Pwede lang sila magticket. I reported them sa main office afterward kasi yun advice ng bf ko. Ayun, tanggal yung lalaki sa post niya. Buti naalala ko pangalan.

ito talaga ang super nakakainis. catch 22 lalo na sa edsa! pag lumipat ka agad, huli ka kasi yellow lane. pag lumpiat ka naman lampas ng yellow lane, swerving ka na. this happened to us na a few times sa may galleria area. phobia na nga my husband sa area na yon.

then there was one time we were pulled over for swerving when we turned right from edsa to aurora. pina-pull over kami sa no loading and unloading zone and syempre, all the jeepneys were there loading and unloading.

sabi ko sa mmda, bakit hindi niya hulihin yung mga jeep. sabi niya eh hinihuli pa daw niya kami paano niya huhulihin yung mga jeep di naman daw siya si superman.

Oh this is cute.

1 of my sisters got flagged down by the MMDA for swerving somewhere along Quezon Ave daw this AM.
Ooopz!
Nagka 2nd thoughts pa daw sya, una tatakbuhan nya, tapos she thought better of it and tumigil sya. Habang palakad sa kanya ang MMDA (sigurado gigil kasi obvious, tinakbuhan nya una) ... she groped for her wallet and ngek! wala... she forgot to put it in her bag. Double Disaster!

Pagdating ni MMDA sa tabi nya...
She had a stroke of brillance (expediency, sabi ko, hindi brilliance, g@ga!)
She broke down into tears... and said: kasi Kuya, kelangan mahabol ko ang husband ko sa bahay ng kabit nya... bago sila mag out of town at baka makausap ko pa ang husband ko na hwag sumama.
kawawa naman ang mga anak ko! Kawawa ang family ko!

Sabay hagulgol daw with matching crocodile tears, atchaka: Kuya, ano ang gagawin ko?! Ano?! Puede mo ko samahan???

Sabi daw ni Mr. MMDA ... sige, sige, alis ka na pero mag ingat ka sa pag driving mo!

LOL Scot-free. next time, gawin ko nga yan.. crocodile tears.

Same story here, happened in Connecticut St. Greenhills turning to Edsa.

Huli daw kami kasi nasa bus lane kami, D-U-H!! E kakaturn right lang namin from Connecitcut e. Pano naman kami biglang susugod sa "car" lane, baka ma "accident" kami.

Worse, they made this contraption, un mini aisle sa gitna ng Edsa, e ang dilim dilim dun- di mo talaga kita, grabe. Everytime, we pass there..nagmumura talaga huisband ko.

sobrang bad trip!

nag-go ako habang GREEN pa yung stop light. kitang-kita ng dalawang mata ko GREEN talaga sha.
nagulat na lang ako ng bigla ako pina-stop ng MMDA officer. shempre nagtaka ako kung anong offense ko.
sabi, yellow daw tumakbo pa ako.

mag-bayad daw ng 500 pesos para di na ako umattend ng seminar. "mabait naman po kayo maam e. tulong ko na yan sa inyo, para di na kayo maabala mag-seminar"

ang mahal! 500 is too much for an offense that im sure hindi ko ginawa. nasira yung budget ko dun a. nagtitipid pa naman ako.

mga sis, what can u say about this? tama po ba yung nangyari sa akin??

Of course, mali MYSTELLA. Pero this is the thing nga... in our own country, we are held hostage by the tong mentality.

What measures can we take against random hold-ups?
Share ko, aside from pagtututok ng baril...
Flash the signed calling card of a General
Attach a No.8 or kahit na 11 license plate
Attach that PNP or PMA commemorative whatever ekek license plate
Maglagay ka nang ABS CBN whatever sticker
Magbigay ka nang calling card na ang pangalan mo eh Tulfo

Educate ourselves.
Not all violations translate into a seminar... ang iba eh just retrieve and pay a fine.
Kung minsan, the fine is equivalent to the P500 hinihingi nila.
Ako, mas gustohin ko pa pa getz sa messenger my license than to pay them...

Remember, mas madali ang huli sa rush hours.. kasi they know you have to bring the kids to school, you gotta be at the office... atchaka pag malapit na ang lunch, merienda sa hapon at hapunan.

When in doubt... what I do is wait for someone to drive ahead of me, and I drive along and slightly behind that one. Kasi yon ang mahuhuli at sa abala sa pagpa flag down doon eh... you will probably be able to drive off.

The best thing... tandaan where these cockroaches make kumpol kumpol. Did you notice.. takot sila to stand alone.. they find safety in numbers.... mind their locations, and proceed with great caution.

Pero talaga, if 1 of them gets shot again ... malamang hindi ako magbibigay nang abuloy.

(Tapos, Bayani Fernando expects to be voted in as whatever anything?)

^ Saan ba natin malalaman yung list ng violations and kung may seminar o wala? Ako kasi tinakot ako na suspended daw license ko for 3 months pag di ako nagbayad! Eh wala naman pala talagang ganun kasi pag nagbayad ka raw sa office, okay na.

I have been stopped a few times but was never given a ticket, in fact they say "sorry" and "magandang umaga or hapon" after I give them my license. I'm thinking my last name rings a bell and I drive a very expensive, tinted car, I also tell them na "tiketan" na ako, more makes them think na hindi ako pwede hulihin.
