abuanddiego- My dog died last night. Heart worm, I got her cerelac pa naman and gatorade, and Gerber. Yun kasi nakakain niya.Yun kasi nakapag paextend sa buhay niya last year. De hydrated siya with heartworms. I was told ng vet na the longest that she would live first week of March of last year was 1 week max. Last night lang siya bumigay. Almost a year. I gave her 3ml( syringe, without needles) of gatorade and cerelac mixed with Gatorade every 30 min. It worked. Kung buhay pa siya.. mag iisang taon na siyang buhay sa March. But due to old age, mahina na rin siguro panlaban niya sa sakit. HS pa lang ako, aso na namin siya. working na ako. Full life na rin. Maximized na rin buhay niya. Di ko naman siya pinabayaan kaya walang pagsisisi. I gave her everything that I can. Nag dextrose siya. But I guess, its time.I exhausted all my efforts for her to live until the last day of her life.

Yung Vit c naman, since matanda na siya, baka kulang na rin ang pinro produce niya sa katawan niya. Senior Citizen na siya kasi. Napapansin ko, pag nag vivitamin c siya, wala siyang bloody discharge sa butt. Nawala yun, then nagiging creamy na lang discharge niya. Kahapon was light lang. Di na yung bloody. Kaya I bought ceelin. To augment the production of vit C sa katawan.

^^our condolences sis hazelbrown...not easy to lose a much-loved pet, kahit pa old age or accident or sickness ang kumuha sa kanila.

( prize na siguro natin sis yung kahit ilang buwan eh mapahaba natin ang life nila. masakit din kasing nawi-witness yung sobrang hirap nila dba? i lost my bestfriend last august too and i'm still taking it one day at a time...

^^@abuanddiego-di na namin siya dinala sa vet sis, kasi old age na talaga. bonus na yung tumagal siya ng 10 more months to think she was diagnosed with heartworm na and was given 1 week max to live last March 1, 2011. super blessing na yun. 12 long years, or 70 years old kung human years. Pag heartworm kasi, wala na rin magagawa. maintenance na lang na di gumrabe. Eto, may COSI milk pa ako, 3 bote ng Gerber at 4 na kahon ng cerelac. Sinusuka lang niya. Max na talaga buhay niya.

Then I told the vet yesterday na namatay na si Bisquit, he asked how old. Sabi niya.. ok na rin yung tinagal ng buhay niya. Di na rin kakayanin ng dextrose kasi frail na rin siya. Kumbaga, hanggang doon na lang talaga.Di na talaga tatanggapin ng katawan yung gamot. Thanks for the sympathy sister

^cocoysmom- Mahirap talaga makita siya na naghihirap. Umiiyak na siya nung huling mga araw.Kaya eto, pinacheck ko agad yung 2 ko sa vet for heartworm tests. Thank God naman, both my Jap and Golden Ret x Labrador are negative from heartworm. Pinabakunahan ko na si Cupid ng 5n1,at recent purchase ko was heartguard Green for my Golden Labrador and Heartguard Blue para kay Japanese Spitz.( para di OT) and pinashot ko na ng anti rabies shot. Para protected. Thanks for the sympathy sis.

^sis ang alam ko may treatment na for heartworms, medyo matagal na gamutan lang at medyo maselan at mahihirapan ang dog. Pero baka mahirapan nga sya because of her age, I remember my first dog, di na rin sya pinagamot kasi daw baka di kayanin, if I only knew na may sakit pala sya, dinala ko sana vet kaso walang nagsabi sakin, nalaman ko na lang wala na sya. Condolonce sis, I know how it feels to lose a loyal friend, yung dog ko who died was my dog since grade 2, and I was already 22 when she passed away. 2 years had passed but until now di pa rin ako totally nakamove on

going back to topic.. i bought 1 kilo of chicken sa nearby market, at isang pakpak lang ang natira

- pyramid hill wet dogfood (beef & lamb), ayaw kasi kainin ng shih tzu namin yung acana lamb & apple. yung 400g na trial pack gusto nila, so akala ko ok na bilhan ng 2.5kg, kaso umayaw eh. sayang ang php 650.

(off-topic) @sis hazelbrown...my dog also tinaningan ng weeks, the vet even talked about euthanasia na lang kasi ganun din naman daw suma tutal nun. i recall crying and praying for days, begging God kahit 1 year lang habaan pa. God blessed us with 1 yr 3 mos with her pa. nung nawala sya, sabi ko kay husband, sana pala 5 yrs hiningi ko kay God.

<grief talking> but then, sabi ni husband, gusto mo pa ba 5 yrs na ganun si trixie? na monthly need i-lab? once in a while need i-swero? tapos laging naka-antibiotic? tapos hindi pa masarap pagkain nya?

siguro nga sis, hanggang dun na lang for us. siguro yung extension was for us to prepare ourselves for their passing, but still masakit noh.

brokenphobia- Yes, mayroon na sis! Parang injection siya na iiinject sa heart something like that. Pero,sabi ni Doc, baka mas mapadali buhay ni doggie. Sobrang delikado. Dapat daw asa middle ang age niya, not too young and not too old para makayanan. Lalo na pag nasa puso na yung worms. I was informed with that, but it was not recommended to me. Kung siguro pinaganon ko, di na siya naka 10 months. Expensive pa. Ang sign pa nga na may pag asa pa siya mabuhay was that she was prescribed ng gatorade kasi dehydrated.Sa Pioneer Center supermarket, nung pumunta kami to buy gatorade, BUY 1 TAKE 1 pa! Kita mo naman pagkakataon:) We got everything sa shelf. Ayun! nagpaka RN ako duty ako sa gabi until am. every 30 min I give her gatorade Nag latag pa ako ng banig sa lanai para malapit sa kanya. It paid off naman. Sa umaga, cerelac naman then water ng cerelac was gatorade na.

cocoysmom-Euthanasia? di ko ata kakayanin yun. Parang pinatay na yung aso. Dati nung bata ako, I think may ginawan ng ganun sa isang puppy ko si Champ. Nag hunger strike ako nun. Di ako kumain nung nalaman ko ni euthanasia siya. I was like 5 years old that time.I cried myself to sleep. Tapos nung tanggap ko na I always, offer flowers sa libing niya. Pinipitas ko sa kapit bahay ko yung flowers. hahaha!

at that time pa, masigla at super happy ang doggy namin ha, as in. kaya sabi ng husband, hindi daw euthanasia yun kasi hindi naman naghihirap ang aso eh bakit ipu-put down?

Cocoysmom-Nakakainis naman yun. Nung hirap na hirap nga yung dog ko na namatay akala ko talaga di na magtatagal eh. Zombie dog na talaga, sinasandal na ang ulo para maka support. Pero, tyaga lang, naka survive. May miracle.sama naman na masaya pa, masigla eh, I puputdown na. May lisensya ba siyang vet siya? Walang sense.

I got my dogs some raw hide bones.
