Been looking for a fitness regime again...im getting big and its not nice na. :( anyone here who's familiar with elorde gilmore? All branches ba nagooffer ng muay? Pero uunahim ko muna itry ang boxing.

Few questions. One on one ba training? An hour lang din ba usually? How many times a week is ideal for weight loss? And hindi ba magplateau kung ito lang ang sport na gagawin? Gyms kase are getting boring lalo if solo.. Mas ok padin talaga kapag may trainor or kasama kaso usually ang trainor 500 so ang mahal den... Enligthen me sisses..

TIA!

^1 hour usually ang training sis. ideally, 3 times a week is enough for boxing. With a good diet, this should do. For me, I also try to do swimming twice a week. Try mo sis, masaya magboxing. :)

hi mga sis!
i just started boxing this sunday at nag enjoy ako.
masakit ang katawan for 2 days until now pero feeling ko super worth yung pain sa
nakukuha ko sa work out na to.
.main purpose ko is to lose weight, then syempre to be healthy na rin.i've been back reading this thread and glad na madami na pala talagang female boxers.
hindi na talaga sya pang lalaki lang.  :)
by the way, i have a a few questions lang:

1. as a starter, ok lang ba talaga to train every day? though kaya ko naman yung pain,
saka pa unti unti lang naman yung pinapagawa sakin. sabi kasi ng trainor ko, mas ok na masanay na ang katawan ko then saka ko bawasan yung training days pag sanay nako.
2. do take meds for body pain?  (ibuprofen, paracetamol, mefenamic etc..?)
3. pwede ba magtrain pag may period? worry ko lang eh baka kasi magpasa pasa ako. yung training ko kasi may halong kicks, elbow, knees.

thanks in advance! :)

Xylene: I'll answer your questions sis.

1. It's ok to train everyday, the intensity will be adjusted by your trainer kasi you can't train with the same intensity everyday, mahirap yun and your body can only take so much.

2. sometimes if it's not tolerable, you can take pain meds pero ako kasi i enjoy the pain so i don't  ;).

3. I train parin kahit may period, and i do muay ha, kasi sabi sa articles, you have to be active parin during your monthly period, all the more pa nga raw. I just use tampons para mas may freedom sa movement.  8)

Hope my answers help.  ;)

^sis, i bought my gloves at chris sports, bulls yung brand. pvc material lang sya and not the leather. 990php lang sya. pwede na. for hand wraps, i have the tko brand at 135php. yung mga bulls na handwrap is mga 215php ata. kung once a week ka lang, pwede ka na sa isang pair lang ng handwrap. matutuyo na yun before your next boxing session.

sis suggestion ko ng handwraps is Fairtex. nag bulls na ako before pero pasa pasa yung knuckles ko after and lagi nagsusugat. fairtex so far ok siya for me  ;)

regular goer ako ng boxing. 2-3 x a week. I use Twins for my gloves and fairtex for handwraps. Twins ko 3 years na sakin ok pa din considering lagi ako nagbobox. Fairtex ok din.

I suggest that if youre going to do boxing regularly invest on your gloves and handwraps para hindi kayo magkabruises and wounds sa hands =)

^relatively mas mura and flexible yung rates. best yung 750 for 5 session para 150 ka na lang per session tapos if you go pa on weekdays na afternoon, 150 lang din yung rate kahit walang advance payment. ok mga tao dun sis. go for kuya edgar. sya trainor ko before. mabait yun and patient saka magaling sa mga ab exercises. medyo tahimik lang sa umpisa. at magaling magmassage. haha
