Hi mga sis,

I am posting this on behalf of a friend.

Any info sa procedure na Laparoscopy?

Your inputs are very much appreciated :-)

Hi sis :) ako pa din, hehe

I had Laparoscopy just last Nov 29. It's for my cysts/endometriosis. I am not sure kung para saan yung sa friend mo, but anyway, I am guessing same lang naman yung procedure for whatever reason.

I had only 3 small incisions. Hubby was inside the OR when this was performed, he saw everything. So, may 3 instruments na ipapasok dun sa 3 incisions. I was only under general anes. Recovery is easy, hindi masyado masakit yung sugat. The only discomfort is I feel bloated, I fart a lot. Kasi pinasukan ng air yung tummy ko to make it big - para easy to see yung kailangan ayusin.

Before the procedure, kailangan ng enema. Um, what else? What kind of info you need ba?

hi meg,
thanks for your post... may i ask who is your doctor? tsaka how much umabot? Kasi, my ob. recommended na to have lap. although wala naman akung endo. kasi clomid resitant na ako & i don't respond well sa injectables... kaya lang i'm still having second thoughts!  Sabi kasi nya mas malaki daw ang chances & mas makikita lahat if magpa-lap? Sis meg, nabuntis ka na ba after? thanks !! hope you could help me...

Spent around 25k for hospital bills (I think 29 supposedly but it was shouldered by philhealth).
It was relatively cheap for a surgery. Tama ba? I was confined at Manila Doctors. We chose a private room P2200/day, stayed for two days only..
I was initially hesitant at first kasi I only go to Medical City all the time - but my OB told me na sobra ang gagastusin namin doon.
And since, we cannot use our healthcards, we really have to be on the practical side. Our doctor told us na mas matutulungan niya kami to lower expense if sa Manila Doctors, anyway siya pa din naman ang gagawa and all.

It's around 45-60k. That's for three doctors.

My OB si Dra. Sua-Lao. Who's yours? Make sure Laparoscopy Specialist siya. Well, yes it's true that easier to find out kung anong problem with us if we undergo lap. Ang main reason for lap is diagnostic first. From there, since may cut ka na, andun na sila, they can do other procedure na kung ano man ma-discover.

Yes, they always say that there's a higher chance of getting pregnant after lap because parang "nalinis/na-overhaul" ka. I was put on medicines after my lap because not all cysts were cauterized. So technically, I only got my period back May 30 - yun pa lang ang officila start ko ng TTC after lap. Hopefully, I am pregnant this cycle (think positive!)

Also, kung hindi mo pa nagagawa [textspeak!] HSG, I suggest you tell your OB na isabay yung pag chack ng fallopian tubes. That was done to me, save na sa expense, save pa sa sakit - isahan na lang.

hi meg,
Thanks for the info.... ang dami kung natutunan!  Anyway, i'm having second thoughts if i will do it here in pamp. or in mla. I'm considering Dr. Delfin tan  if sa manila ko gagawin yung procedure... taga pamp. kasi ako mayrun din dito infertlity doctor that does the procedure. She quoted me for 80k ... i dunno with dr. tan it depends on the case ata! Ako naman sis both of my ovaries are polycystic pero i have regular menstruation. Yun nga rin ang sabi nila sis  makikita daw lahat sa lap... sis , bakit parang ang mura kay dr. sua lao? sya ba yung may clinic sa medical city? thanks so much!!! any additonal info. would be helpful:) Goodluck, sana positive na ha? i'll be praying for you

She generally asks for a fair price, kaya ng aloyal ako sa kanya. :) I think, always depende yan sa case kung nahirapan sila. Kaya they give exact amount after the procedure. Mag-iiba din/It will vary kung saan ka hospital gagawin. I've heard of Dr. Tan na din, I did not try lang kasi I am not comfortable sa guy doctor.

Herman, if you are in doubt/you don't trust your OB, always better to seek second opinion. Wala namang mawawala if you ask. Ako, I went to 5 different doctors before I chose & stuck to one.

Sis Meg,

Sa MMC kami nagpapaceck up till now. Gumastos na kami ng 30K. Ngayun nagpa inject si misis ng Luprolex. Nagtanong naman ako sa 1st ob nya at second ob wala namang side effect according to them. As of now mga 1 week na meron parin syang spot which suppose to be mag clear na dapat.

Herman, I am sorry ha - but I do not understand ano ang exact diagnosis/illness ng wife mo.

I was given Luprolex for my endometriosis. It's a medicine that if given continuously, dapat hindi na mag-ovulate yung person - no spotting, mens/period or whatsoever. Im my case, it makes it prevent from the cyst to keep on coming back. I had five shots early this year. And, yes, mahal siya, one shot should cover her for 26-28days, after nun dapat sundan agad.

@Herman - your wife may have been given Luprolex to shrink the myoma.  As you said, the myoma was found to be submucous which means it is located within the endometrium (it is the part of the uterus that thickens and sheds every month as menses and where the fertilized egg implants).  Hindi na tinuloy siguro na tanggalin ang myoma because the OB did not want to destroy or damage the integrity of the endometrium and instead she decided to give meds na lang.

My comment is based lang on what you said ha.  Your OB may have a different reason.  Ask her and I am sure she will  explain naman her decision.

hi mga sis, when all meds fail to cure some of our reproductive problems, having lap is a right decision.  It took me almost 5 years and 3 different obgynes to finally decide to undergo the procedure.  Fortunately, I was refered to a very good ob/fertility specialist.  It's true that our chance of conceiving increases after the lap.  In my case, I got preggy 2 months after it, basta aggressive fertility work-up follows at pa-check din si hubby syempre at the same time para ma-address din kung may problem sya. May our God bless all your searching for the solution of your repro concerns.
