if your giving your toddler too much milk, mawawalan siya ng gana. a toddler only needs 16-24 oz of milk per day. masama din pag over ka sa milk coz i've read na magkakaron ka ng iron defeciency coz magdudugo ang gut. i've notice this with my child. i though kase at almost 2, she needs  a lot of milk. pero in reality, dapat more on solids na siya. and dito lang sa atin sa pilipinas na formula ang pinapainom even for toddlers. other country's all over the world starting 1 year old are drinking fresh milk/whole. at 2 if your child is eating enough solids, you can give 2% less fat, same w/ the milk of an adult.  pag nabusog na ang toddler sa milk, she wont be eating solids. kya pag nagutom daughter ko and she's asking milk, id offer food.  di rin ok ang formula  because because mataas and calories. you'll notice iba na ang mga bata ngayon. sobra kukulit and gugulo becoz of the sugar from this formula. ive never known about this, until i've read it from breastfeeding advocates and different sites like chronicles of a nursing mom and kellymom. i breastfed my daughter for 9 mo. and mix breastfeeding until 14 mo. now im shifting her from formula to fresh milk. inuubos ko nlang [textspeak!] formula and ok naman saknya ang taste ng fresh milk. i mixed it w/ the formula to introduce her to the new taste.

if you let  her eat more solids than drink more milk, magbabago ang appetite nya. if not ask for a vitamins from your pedia.  i dont think its the brand of milk you should be changing, its the amount. :) but if your health conscious, you can shift her to fresh milk. mas cheaper pa. :)

^AMEN!!! Magaling Lang kasi ang marketing the milk companies here. My mom was questioning me why my daughter barely drinks milk. I told her, she eats/drink yogurt, eat cheeses and leafy vegetables. So I don't see the point of giving her toddler's milk. Same goes for my 18mo old. He drinks the same milk my husband uses for his cereals. Hihi.

Iristacey, not expensive din pala. And you said it has probiotics (acidophilus)? Baka I don't have to buy separate multi vits and probiotics if magkataon. Mas tipid pa ko.

yup sis hunny_ally, sulit sya kasi no need for separate acidophilus. yun lang cherry flavor lang. saka xylitol sugar nya kya ok lang sa ngipin. pati may efa. ako nga nakikkinom din kasi bfeeding namanako.need to be healthy hehe. saka mas masarap vits ng kids. nachochoke ako sa malaki. eh ito chewable. so no prob. :)

My daughter's vitamins are Ceelin and Appebon. Changed her milk from Nido to Enfakid din. At first medyo gumana sya kumain, pero ngayon humina na ulit.  :'( I'm thinking of changing her milk to fresh milk na din. What brand of fresh milk can you recommend, sissies?

^best way is to buy small tetra pack container of the fresh milk so you'd know which one your kid likes best. Like for my son he prefers Alaska over magnolia purefresh

if you consult a pedia about shifting your 2 year old kid to fresh milk, would they recommend it, you think?

Ang vitamins nya Cherifer and Pedzinc.

It helps din their appetite pero of course i understand na iba-iba for moms and their kids :)

hi mga sis na curious naman ako shifting my baby to fresh milk..

ask ko lang paano naging mas mura ang  fresh milk? saka how about the difference between nutritional value nila?

malakas naman sa solids anak ko [textspeak!] mga 2-3x a day lang siya milk. She's also drinking yogurt drink..

So sabi ng pedia nya try ko raw ang propan TLC, hope maging ok ulit appetite nya, and milk nya now is nestogen 3...

I started my 2y/o with fresh milk and parang naging mas magana siyang kumain, I don't know if dahil naging less busog siya, since mabilis makabusog ang formula. or naging appetite bosster niya yung fresh milk niya

^formula is heavier in the tummy because of the added fillers. Eh Kung full na ang tummy how can you expect the kid to eat more solids?

yeah, kaya less formula na kami, every night na lang siya nag foformula, tapos during daytime, fresh milk and solids siya, mas naging matakaw na siya ngayon na solid foods.

Per experience, what really helped my son to eat healthy and steadily gain weight since I started him with solids, was feeding him organic brown rice. At first gina grind ko muna sya bago ko lutuin, para di ko na need i-mash, mas madali din for him to eat it. Hanggang last year (almost 7 years old na sya) brown rice parin. He has always been bigger for his age. :)
