at first, by performance but i can also give an increase pag matagal na sila, let's say more than 2 years but once ko lang ibibigay yun. the rest benefits na.

By performance muna. pag ok ang performance nya....2nd month nya sa amin increase ko na para naman ganado sya magtrabaho. then 6th month nya increase uli. Then pag nag one year na sya increase uli tapos every 6 mos na ang increase ko sa kanya.

imo, by performance. may ibang maid kasi pag matagal na sayo, nagkaka attitude problem na. intrimitida na kung baga kasi masyadong komportable na that sometimes they become complacent with their tasks and they bully the younger and newer maids to do the heavy chores. i find it wrong na dahil mas matagal lang eh mas malaki ang sweldo. what if mas masipag at mas maganda naman ang performance ng younger and newer maids.

sa helper namin, depende lang kung magkano gusto na bonus ibigay. total halos tipid naman sila sa bahay. for their food, kung ano kinakain namin, yun din kinakain nila.

Prorated sa amin kasi di pa siya umaabot ng one year and this Christmas we gave her gold earrings. She deserves it, mabait naman kasi and takot sa amin.

ask ko lang where in the labor code it requires payment of 13th month sa househelp?

nag-research kasi ako and based on what i've read, nasa exception ang employers ng househelp when it comes to 13th month pay.

(d) Employers of household helpers and persons in the personal service of another in relation to such workers; "

I'm not aware na di mandatory ang magbigay ng 13th month pay to our household help. Yun kasi nakagisnan ko from my parents. Nagbibigay si papa lagi sa driver namin and katiwala. Now that I'm married, I do the same thing and it's our normal way of expressing our appreciation for all their loyalty and hard work.

for me, whether it's mandatory or not, nagbibigay kami. kasi wala namang ibang source of income ang household help and compared to regular employees, mababa lang ang pay nila (there may be exceptions, merong mga yaya, maids and drivers who earn more).

we give christmas bonuses. sa money, depende how much feel namin

we also give something na naka wrap para pagdating ng christmas day, meron din sila binubuksan habang kami sa family nagbibigayan ng gifts

dad ko sa mga maids at boy pag may 1 year na sa amin may 13th month pay..kung how much 1 month sweldo nila.
Sa tindahan naman..since kami na nagmamanage..may bonus talaga..depende sa performance.pag pala absent maliit lang.pero pag masipag at maasahan yan malaki bonus with groceries pa.

13th month is mandatory -- IMO, the kasambahays do not look at it anymore as a bonus, but as part of their compensation package.

In addition to the 13th month, we give a month's bonus Xmas Day; then another month's bonus on Dec 31st coz by then, they are broke with their own gift giving to their own families

But there are certain helpers we give 3 months bonus to, kasi matagal na sila giving us good service, and mapagkakatiwalaan talaga kasi.

I always give my helpers their 13th month pay as well as grocery packs. If a house help has kids, I also give them gifts mostly just clothes from Surplus Shop.

Mas maganda kasi talaga pag me naibibigay.

Yes, they expect gifts too. But I have noticed that they are more eager when it comes to cash gifts. So, my tendency is to simplify the gifts and load on the cash.

Yeah I agree I give cash na lang also as gifts to simplify and I believe they liek it better that way. Pero may something small gift pa din ako na niwwrap for them at nilalagay ko na lang sa card na to yaya from my daughter para may i-open din sya sa noche buena

my nanay gives bonus to our house help every year, gives gifts, and food pack as well. as for the yaya of my baby, she only started this month so i'm not giving any bonus yet but will give her something special and a food pack.

13h month pay is mandatory. I just gave my daughters' yayas and house helps their 13th month pay today.

As for the Christmas bonus, we'll be giving that too and they'll have another monetary gift come New Year's Eve. Were also preparing a small gift for them and some chocolates for Christmas.

EDIT: I came across Secosana bags at SM Makati, they're sale up to 50% off! I was able to get some for my yayas and helpers, 490-590 pesos each, not bad

not really a 13th month pay, its more on Christmas gift i give. I always give them cash & clothes.
