I've been getting a lot of emails over the years, so I hope this helps.

WHAT IS POLYMER CLAY?

Polymer clay is an oven-baked material that you can mold or sculpt into anything under the sun. It comes in a rainbow of colors which you can mix into limitless color possibilities. Polymer clay is sold under different brands, all of which have different characteristics. Which brand to use will depend on what your project is.

Unlike other clay materials (earth, air-dry, toy modeling clay), polymer clay cures in the oven. Much like baking cakes and cookies, baking polymer clay is an exact science. It needs a specific baking temperature and baking time. Set the temperature just a bit too low and you’ll end up with a brittle piece. Set the temperature a notch too high and the clay will boil or burn.

I wonder, do you use that pasta machine for flatting out the surfaces or just rolling pin? And I hope you can also discuss about color blending(?) .

@ iamj - pasta machine is use to make uniformed size (thick-wise) pieces, roller naman is needed when using texture/design mats. both are use to flatten clays & blend colors.

i love polymer clay accessories and isa sila sa lagi ko hinahanap sa mga beading shops and photos online.

nakapanuod ako ng isang project sa DIY jewelry, tingin ko very complicated sila gawin.. i hope matutunan ko rin gumawa ng polymer clay beads soon.

yup, clay is flexible to work with naman so you can use it on anywhere. Be creative nalang

maraming nagbebenta online, search mo sya sa multiply. Or you can buy at any deovirs store, i usually buy clay at deovirs Sm Manila. Hope that helps.
