Re Hand-carry & check-in baggages
« on: November 01, 2008, 02:12:36 pm »
Hi GT'ers! JUst a question:

Kasi they're thinking talaga na ibebenta mo talaga sa abroad and counterfeit talaga . hehe.

Sa hand-carry ba (kahit saang airport), according to your experiences may limitations ba talaga? Lets say 10kg or as long as kaya mong dalhin & kakasya sa cabin, pwede? You think i-aallow din yun?

just wanna know...thanks for dropping . ..  :D

^ domestic ba or international?

for international, usually depende sa airlines. some airlines, pag 1-2kg lang excess, di na nila papabayaran. yung iba, if wala ka namang handcarry, pwedeng offset na yung handcarry allowance sa check-in. while yung iba, mahigpit.

lagi akong walang handcarry, so di ako pinagbabayad ng excess baggage sa check-in. EXCEPT nung nag cebu pacific ako. wala rin akong handcarry, tapos excess ako ng 4kgs sa check-in ko. sabi ko offset na lang, ayaw pumayag. eh wala akong extra bag para pang-handcarry. saka nakapacked na ng maayos gamit ko. so i ended up paying my excess na lang.

Dami ko pa namang dala, and ayaw kong magbayad ng excess... hehe ;D

i don't think airport are critical in regards to excess baggage, more on the content of it. It's the airlines that are critical on the weight. On hand carry, the allowed hand carry bag is one per pax (you can have additional hand carry item like laptop and such). Weight of hand carry varies per airlines i believe. It's quite irritating though when there are those people who lug more than the allowed number of  hand carry (sometimes 3 or more) and take up all the cabin space that was suppose to be used by other designated passenger.

^Talaga naman. Then they expect the cabin attendants to heave their cabin bags sa overhead bins. Galit pa pag di mo tinulungan. Hay! Talaga naman. ::)

Also, it says on my ticket na

"Guest may transport free of charge checked baggage up to a maximum weight of 20kg for the Airbus flights (A319 and A320) and 10kg for selected ATR flights (ex. Caticlan)."

Airbus flight ba ang flight to Singapore? How will I know if it's a selected ATR flight?

Thanks in advance, I'm new to this.

<br hehe super tipid

mahigpit cebu pacific sa baggage allowance. dun ata sila bumabawi eh. php400/kg. i remember nung nagcebu pac brother nung july lang, 1.5kg lang excess pero ayaw pa palampasin, eh wala naman siyang dalang hand-carry nun. he thought din iooffset nila just like PAL. pero hindi! sabi magtanggal na lang daw siya at ihandcarry. kaya ayun, sa airport binukas niya maleta niya at nagtanggal ng gamit. buti na lang meron siyang paper bag sa loob ng maleta. yung tinanggal niyang pants ata or damit naka-paper bag tuloy na handcarry niya.  ;D ;D

story ko naman, posted na sa taas.

basta yun, mahigpit cebu pacific, dun kasi sila bumabawi eh.. kaya better make sure na di ka magexcess or yet wag mo sagarin yung handcarry allowance mo. para incase na sobra yung check-in pwede mo ilagay sa hand-carry.

^^Thank you, cody23.

If there's more than one person travelling, they are going to combine your luggage, is this correct?

yep.....always remember, though this may sound paranoid, that some people are not to be trusted.  eh kung ikaw malinis ang intensyon, marami pa rin ang nangaabuso.

always have in mind na lang to travel lightly.  prioritize lang sa pag pack ng baggage.  but if di maiwasan you can distribute the weight.  imbis na gumamit ka ng luggage for your hand carry, carry a backpack.  don't show the people around you na your struggling with the weight, kasi if you do, halata nila mabigat dala mo.  trust me this work. ;D  last travel ko almost 10kg yung laman na fresh tamarind from BKK, di ako nasita....carry lang ang pagdala...as if di mabigat. hehe.  make people feel your confidence but at the same time your friendliness, they would be more forgiving. ;D

this happened to me sa HK airport. pauwi na kami ng mom ko. tapos she went to the restroom. a group of DH approached me and asked kung pwede daw makicombine ng check in baggage. i agreed. tapos nung turn ko na magcheck in i asked the one from cebu pacific kung pwede ba ipangalan dun sa isang dh yun mga check in bags since hand carry lang dala namen. para di na kami maabala pag antay nung luggages nila sa NAIA. the lady told me that random daw ang pagpili nung name so as to avoid yun mga nakikisabay na hindi naman magkakakilala para makatipid sa bayad ng excess baggage. good thing yun napili niya is from someone from the group of dh din.

when my mom came back. napagalitan niya ko.. kasi nga hindi ko naman alam kung ano laman nung mga maleta nila.. baka daw magkaprob yun madadamay pa kami..

there.. i learned my lessons..
