If there's no pain and suffering...how would you know that God is the Healer?  How will you appreciate God's love, healing and mercy?

Troubles are opportunities to make us become closer to God.  It just depends on how we react to the problems of this world...to test our faith--whether we'll seek refuge in God and acknowledge His power?  Or turn away from His presence and lose your faith?

Remember the faithful man JOB? He was tested with all the most painful trials, suffering, and calamities, any human being could possibly get. Did God gave the trials to him? NO WAY!  (Job chapter 1,2) Satan gave them to him! God Jehovah "ALLOWED" them to happen and regardless of the trials that Satan brought upon him, Job maintained his faith in God, he exercised endurance and integrity and GOD's role here is rewarding Job for his faithfulness.

We should remember that Jehovah is the Source, NOT of trials, but of good things. (James 1:16-18)

The Bible should never contradict itself. Only one GOD is the author of it. If He says "He is not the source of trials, then He is not the source of trials" and that makes a lot of sense being said by a loving God.  “God is love.”—1 John 4:16,

..because God wants us to come closer to Him, so that He can shower us with more of His grace. In that way, we'll learn to see PAIN in a different light.

consider this, Abraham, Joseph the dreamer, Moises and others, suffered before they became what they are now. If Joseph wasn't sold to the Egyptians and suffered in jail, he might not be a great man and save his people from starvation during their time, right. Even The Son of Man suffered alot.. So why not us?

Sometimes, we cannot see the stars if the sun is at its peak, but if all things turned black, that's when we can see them. We cannot see the beauty of things if we cant get through the night.

Read The Shack by William Young. It's a very very good, enlightening and moving book about life's suffering and loss and how God reacts to it. After I read this book, something in me changed. :)
Faith never knows where it is being led, but it knows and loves the One who is leading. :)

sis ive been through same situation before, i was asking same question to myself...

its difficult, very difficult to believe right now, but for people at these hard times, always remember that EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.  Sometimes, we need to experience something really difficult to be a stronger and better person.  My inspiration since then up to now is FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND.  It says everything to regain your faith... He is always there helping you out to conquer all your pain. Slowly but surely I promise you.

JUST BELIEVE. there is still tomorrow, a hope at the end of the tunnel. :)

Because God have a purpose on giving us such Pains, its either it teaches us on things we dont understand, and remind us that in any trouble, problem or pain that He gives He's always there to help us.

And He will not give us something that we can't overcome.

Faith is the main ingredient... :)

If you don't know Pain, you'll never know that Happiness exists. Praying won't work if you don't have Faith. Is too hard to Trust God? Maybe you're wasting your time dwelling on the Pain itself. Try to appreciate Life a little and maybe you'll understand.

For me,God allows pain and suffering to remind us that we need to take time to be with Him and talk to Him.. With pain,we learn to distinguish and value happiness, simple things, the essence of God's gifts to us.. We should acknowledge that He is God.. And that we're nothing without Him.. Notice that whenever we are in great trials, there's only one thing we all do - pray.. God wants us to be close to Him.. For with God,we can experience a beautiful life.. Trials may also remind us of the sins we've done and we need to confess to God.. Life is not all happiness.. As the Bible says, there's a time for everything.. Just think that all things work together for good.. Rom.8:28.. God loves us all..

i was like that before sis, i did not attend mass, i did not pray...etc. because the pain ate me whole because of failures...

but as time went by, i have realized I have changed into a better, stronger person! I dont know, I just felt He is with me all along, helping me out. To think right and well at the midst of storm. ;)

oo nga maraming pain pero minsan dahil sa kasalanan ng tao

at may plano si Lord sa ating lahat

i remember, sorry if hindi exact words

my ways  are not your ways

my thoughts are not your thoughts

marami mang struggles at pains pero marami ding promises si Lord:

But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
, matthew 6:33

and

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." JOhn 3:16
when I say "Im a Christian",I am not saying that I am holier than every one,but I Am just a sinner who received God's grace and that I was lost but now I am found and forgiven.

nung bata ako i asked this question to my mom, ang sabi niya sa akin.. If life is perfect, if we don't experience pain and if we don't suffer, how will we know there's God? How can he save us? How can he heal us? Life is about experiencing, if everything's perfect, ano pang sense ng life?

If God is Loving, Why is There So Much Pain In This Life?

Maybe because there is no God? Maybe because everything in life is balanced---pain and pleasure? Maybe because humankind has a long way to go before society becomes equal, just, fair and loving?

If God is Loving, Why is There So Much Pain In This Life?

kasi itong buhay natin ngayon, hinde ito yung buhay na ipinangako sa atin ni God.remember yung story ni Adam & Eve, nakatira sila nun sa paradise, binigyan sila ni God ng Freewill pero dinis obey nila si God by eating the forbidden fruit..kaya simula nun yung sin nila na inherit natin,,pero dahil sa love ni God tayo he gave us his One and only Son Jesus to die for our sins..diba sobrang sakit sa isang Ama na hayaan yung kanyang anak na ipako sa krus.,pero yun yung way para ma save tayo sa kasalanan..ngayon may freewill din tayo..wether maging bad or good..sa Bible promise ni God na lahat ng matuwid sa 2nd coming ni Jesus e isasama nya tayo sa bayang banal..everlasting life..kung saan wala ng paghihirap at kamatayan,,yun yung buhay na gusto at ipinangako nya sa atin..hinde yung ngayon.

when my brother died june of this year, unexpected and at a very young age, it was very painful that i forgot to ask, why God?

until i read this thread

why God? why him? why do I have to feel this pain?
Sharing our stories can also be a means of healing. Grief and loss may isolate us, and anger may alienate us. Shared with others, these emotions can be powerfully uniting, as we see that we are not alone, and realize that others weep with us.

after you surpass all the pains and sufferings, that when you will value and appreciate more the good things in life.....it's one way of God teaching us to be strong, to be humble and to appreciate all the blessings He is continuously giving us
