si boyfriend pumunta sa US last Sept. with tourist visa, mag-work siya as nurse doon, meron na siya employer.

tapos sabi pa nya, i-aapply na rin daw yung for greencard nya after ng H1B.. basta something like that, medyo d ko rin kasi gets..

also nabasa ko dito yung tungkol sa greencard na mas mahirap na ko na mai-petition nya kapag greencardholder na sya? tama ba pagkakaintindi ko?  mas mahirap or mas matagal?

Once may H1B visa na yung boyfriend mo, you need to get married para makasama ka using H4 visa. Kaso kelangan mo bumalik ng Pinas to get stamped with the H4 visa. Kelangan lang yung marriage license nyo as well as yung mga documents ng hubby to be mo when we was filed under H1B.

Better kung magpapakasal na kayo, go to US under H4 visa and then saka magpa-file yung hubby to be mo ng greencard, para kasama ka na automatically sa petition for GC/Immigrant visa.

@ gnela_21:

thanks

Yup, pwede umuwi ang H1B visa holder kasi multiple entry yung visa. Usually 3 years ang duration ng H1B visa and you can go home anytime within those time.

Kung nurse sya, under EB3 sya mag-fafall (Employee Based 3rd Preference). According sa Visa Bulletin, ang pino-process nila sa ngayon are those with a priority date of June 2002. Ibig sabihin kung ififile sya, malamang 2010 na sya ma-file and may 8 years sya na waiting time. You can check this website, http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4576.html So more or less 5 years ang waiting time for approval.

si boyfriend pumunta sa US last Sept. with tourist visa, mag-work siya as nurse doon, meron na siya employer.

hello sis! you really have to get married para mabigyan ka ng H4 visa, its for dependents of an H1b holder. Im going to have may interview tomorrow for my h4 visa.. hopefully sabi nga nila walang nadedeny sa h4 visa since dependent ka. validation lang ng identity at docs yun.. sana nga totoo...

kung may gusto ka pa malaman about h4, just message me...

aw, sis! di ko lam na ngapply ka pala for tourist. anyway, ok lang yun.. the best talaga is to get married and then apply for an h4.. madali lang naman.. all you need is 3 pay checks from your hubby or bf.. hehe! then all the papers from his employer like the contract or offer sa kanya ng employer, copy ng I-179 at I-129.
wedding pics at wedding invitation.. though there are stories here na hindi na hinanap ang pics. mas ok n yung completo kasi hindi natin alam kung ano ang doc na hihingin sa atin ng consul and ofcourse NSO marriage certi, very impt yun..

i've only read horror stories in the net.  i think they are exceptions rather than the rule though.

like this one case na hinignan ng payslip ng husband nya, then the consul found out that the husband wasnt paid the market rate by the employer.  so nagka gulo2.  in the end, na cancel pati H1 ng husband, because of the wage violations.

^ I've never had my notebook, netbook or phone checked whether it be an international flight to the US or flying domestically in the US.  What I did though was erase all non-licensed media just to be safe than sorry :)

ive read news articles about laptops that have been kept by customs and 'inspected'.  the profile they are looking for are possible terror suspects, people who deal in child porn and drug dealers.
if i remember correctly, they do it to 3-5% of people coming into the US.

so yes it does happen.  while i've never been asked for my laptop, (i don't know of anybody who has had that happen to them) i think its a good practice to delete pirated software and torrent files if you're crossing US borders.

i dont think this happens on domestic flights.
