My baby Zoe's 1st birthday party last January 31, 2009.  :D

Theme:  Jojo's Circus

Venue:  Urdaneta Village Friendship Hall, Makati City
            3-7pm

Party Planner:  Kidstar Kastles
     Venue dress-up
          Jojo's Circus full styro backdrop
          entrance signage
          table centerpieces
          swags
          balloon decors
          balloon burst
I made the right decision in getting them.  All our guests were raving  about the stage and the balloon decors.  Super ganda talaga!  :D  They truly transformed the venue into a circus-like atmosphere.  Thanks Imma for putting up with all my kakulitans.  ;D  You exceeded my expectation!

Here are some pics:

Caterer:  O Cuisine Connoisseur
Great food, elegant set-up!  Sharon, one of the owners, was very easy to talk to.  She was able to accomodate all my requests.  :D  She was there during the set-up and she made sure that everything was in order before she left.  They also have professional and well-trained wait staff.  If you want something different, not your usual catered food, then go for OCC!

Some pics of their table and buffet set-up:

Cake, mini cakes and cookie lollies:  Sugarbox by Emily Uy
The Jojo's Circus cake, mini cakes and cookie lollies that Emily did for Zoe looked great and tasted even better!  Yummy ng banana choco chip!  :D  The mini cakes and cookie lollies also served as the souvenirs for the adults. Pics to follow.

Photographer/Videographer:  Ken Go
Very professional.  He made sure all important details were captured.  Great and patient with kids too!  He also went out of his way to help iron out a minor problem during the party.  Can't wait to see his pictures and video!  ;D

Host:  Apollo Abraham
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s282/immaongteco/apollo.jpg
Ventrillusion:  Wanlu
What can I say about these two?  Simply the best in the industry!   :D  They were able to entertain kids and adults as well in their different acts.  It's no wonder they are always booked.  Glad I was able to book them early thru Kidstar Kastles.  :)

For my son's 3rd birthday party, I had a Cars themed party with do-it-yourself foodfare like pasta with choice of sauces, tacos with choice of fillings/sauces, hotdogs on stick with choice of sauces din, salad bar, ice cream bar (with popsicles, drumstick, etc). Matrabaho lang ng konti but was really appreciated by guests and did not cost so much ;-)

For my son's 1st birthday last February 1.

Venue: Jollibee-Philam, West Avenue
Food:  Adult:  Chicken with rice, spaghetti, regular fries, sundae and regular drink
Kids:  Chicken with rice, spaghetti, regular fries, twirl and regular drink
Theme:  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Invitations:  I made the layout but had them edited and printed at Simple Touch-168 mall
Tarp and souvenir clocks:  Simple Touch-168 mall
Cake/cupcakes:  Kitchen Krafts
Balloon Burst:  Let's paint d' town red
Chocolate fountain:  My Chocolate Heaven
Glitter tattoo:  Crafty Chiclet
Videograher:  Got from Jollibee
Prizes and loot bags/contents:  Toy Kingdom, 168/divi mall, SM hypermarket
Thank you sticker:  Printed at Robee
Party outfit:  Guess for polo and pants
                   Florsheim for the shoes

Like any other mom, I was planning months early for my son's 1st birthday party.  I was hoping to get a nice venue and have it catered.  Pero I only have a limited budget - 30K.  Ok sana if we have limited number of guests pero sa dami ng gusto naming imbitahin, we opted to have it in Jollibee.  I started buying some things during the Toy Kingdom Warehouse Sale pero after Christmas na talaga kami nagasikaso.  Nagpabook ako December sa Jollibee West Ave.  The place looks small from the outside pero if you'll have the entire party area sa 2nd floor, which we did because we were expecting more than 100 guests (123 lahat dumating pero dami pang hindi nakapunta), malaki yung area.  We had glitter tattoo and the chocolate fountain set-up sa likod.  I made some DIY balloon decor pero di rin tumagal kasi pinaglaruan na ng kids, hehe.  I wanted sana to dress up the place pero instead of giving a portion of the budget sa decor, sa food ko na lang tinodo and sa prizes.  Outcome?  Super saya ng party.  The host and crew were very nice.  The guests were happy kasi halos lahat sila may nauwing food kasi di nila o ng kids naubos, daming prizes nauwi ng kids.  Hit din yung chocolate fountain :) We ended up spending almost 20K more than what the original budget was pero sulit talaga kasi everybody enjoyed the party.

my baby's 1st bday party was last sunday feb 15. i can't believe that it's over already after months of looking forward to it. because of GT, i have learned to plan events like my baby's birthday ahead of time. hehe ..siempre dami din tips na nakukuha dito.  ;D i wish may party planner dito samen pero since wala, i had to do it all by myself. sabi nga nung nag-balloon decors, nagulat daw siya kasi dami ko kausap na supplier. buti hindi daw ako nalilito. hehe  :P

Venue: Villa Paroma Clubhouse, Mariveles, Bataan
Caterer: Filac's   Adult: Rice, Fresh Lumpia, Beef with White Sauce,

                             on stick, macaroons
                        Drinks: Iced Tea
                        *with free chocolate fountain
Balloon Decors, Balloon Burst, Pinata, Face Painter: Iya's Balloon & Party World

                            hubby from qatar

Chocolates inside the tin cans: dala din ni hubby.

and local stores here like pandayan, vetaf's,
                                              vercon's, novo.

*food carts (ice cream and cotton candy), sound system and other stuff kinuha lang from local vendors dito samen  ;D

Some of my invited guests were not able to make it since some had plans for valentine's na nagcarry over to the next day. pero okay lang naman since madami pa din nakapunta. it was very fun pa din and the party was a success because of pocholo! tuwang tuwa talaga kami at mga guests sa kanya. i received lots of comments na it was the best birthday party they've attended daw. well, maybe a little  biased yung comments since bihira naman talaga dito yung mga ganitong party na may host/magician. actually ako pa lang ata and one other...usually clowns..so i wanted to be different so kahit sa manila pa ko kumuha, ok lang. it was worth it.  ;D

Kathleen for me is the best party planner/coordinator! Tim and I wanted a very unique theme for Joehna's bday. Kathleen knows I am particular with details and our ideas are out of this world especially my husband. She did a great job, nobody can pull it off like she did. She gave me a lot of freebies to the point na nahihiya na ako kasi its too much. She really helped me with the suppliers and it was very kind of her to outsource from US and India almost all of the supplies we used in the party. :) Upon entering the venue, I felt like I was really in a whole new different world and the feeling was like I was in a magical carpet ride talaga! Thanks, Kelly! You're the best. Kisses from me and Joehna. It wouldn't be a success without you.

Swags and Lights: MR. SENSITIVITY

Peso power: undisclosed

It was difficult looking for a supplier since super mahal the swags with beads and lights. We needed swags and mood lights to achieve the perfect mood for the party. I never met the owner Juancho but my planner was raving about his generosity and how accomodating he is from the very start to finish.

Photographer: GING LORENZO, CES KASILAG and MICHELLE MORELOS

Peso power: (?) I still dont know. Haha! I am upgrading my album to a bigger and thicker one so I am waiting for the price list plus I have to pay for the extra hours service.

I love these 3 photographers! They're easy to to work with! I met with them on the day of the event and everything went well naman. I just sent Ging an email of what I want and some details they might miss. Michelle naman I met 1 month ago and I love her :) Super dami nyo shots and very fast ang output ha. She uploaded teasers agad last night. By the way, Michelle's services I got for free. Gift of a good friend, Ms. Shiela to Joehna. Thanks Ms. Shiela SEXY! Mwaah! I am soo excited to see the raw pictures already!!!

Videographer: THREELOGY VIDEO

Peso power: 35,000 for the video coverage and 25,000 for the AVP (photo AVP and onsite video)

I pencil booked Threelogy last year pa around October when I finalized the venue. They did Joehna's baptism so we were already comfortable working together. For the AVP, I gave them the pictures last Feb 17 and made pa-habol some more pics Feb 21. It was super rush but they did a great job! You can view the AVP at http://pawie18.multiply.com/video/item/9/AVP.wmv_JOEHNAS_BDAY_AVP_ :)

Cake Confectioner: VERONICA NGO of LES SUCRERIES

Peso power: Around 30,000

I saw Ms. Veronica in Multiply. I was amazed by her creations ever since we started getting her. She did my nephews bday cakes and were her suki already. We just love her designs and the taste is SUPER talaga. Her carrot cake is one of the best I've ever tasted talaga, its actually my mommy's favorite! I think June 2008 pa when I started making her kulit on the cake, we had a different theme for Joehna's bday back then. When we finalized the theme, I only said I want it big, with lights and there should be something rotating. After a month she sent me 3 sketches and I chose the pinaka-maganda of course! LOL! She and my planner said they have 3 sketches for me but they're sure I'd be getting the biggest and most expensive one. I was surprised to see the cake. The sketch she sent was really amazing but the actual cake was WOW! My jaw literally dropped! I thought it was 4ftx3ftx3ft but it was even bigger! She also woke up at 4am just to put everthing together :) THANKS MS. VE and Thanks to your husband, Milton.

Giveaways: SHIELA CONTENTO of CARMELA FE TRADING

Our giveaways: Backrest for the kids and Pouches/Kikay Kits for the yayas
Peso power: 950 each for the backrest and 65(or 75) for the pouches/kits

Ms. Shiela talaga nag-piga ng isip for the giveaways! Of course her major concern is dapat bagay sa theme. We were all excited on the backrest. I cannot think of any other giveaways appropriate for the theme talaga. December when she ordered from Uratex the foams and the cloth she used pa came late. They needed to rush everything para habol the 60pcs for the party. I love the backrest, its soo soft and comfy :) I hope the kids will enjoy their backrests. For the yayas naman, I want something they can use. So inside the kikay kit, I placed pantene shampoo and conditioner and dove soap.

Mini Cakes: MARY ANNE CUENCA of TOP CAKES

Peso power: 280 each

The mini cakes served as giveaways to adults. It was difficult for us to find a supplier for mini cakes, I wanted Kate of Simply Kate's but she relocated to Singapore last February. It was around January when we started looking for potential suppliers. Since the design is very intricate, we requested each supplier to give us a sample. Top Cakes gave the prettiest cake so I told my planner to book her even if she is kinda pricey... On the day of the event, I was frustrated. Not only me but also my planner. The output was not close to the sample she gave us, the fondant is cracking and it didn't look nice at all :( My planner told her were upset and all but she only replied that she'll do better next time. Naku! Wala na next time ha! We booked her kasi ang ganda the sample tapos on the day it was the only detail who almost destroyed our dream arabian princess theme...

Birthday Outfit: PRIM CO-CHUA of BABY FASHIONISTAS, ZARA, EVITA PERONI

Peso power: 8,000 for Joehna's very beautiful dress; 1,550 for her shoes; 895 for her clip

Super baby fashionistas patron kami ni Joehna. We go to Prim everytime she needs costumes and all. She's still the best for me (and for everybody else naman di ba?!). It took her 2mos to make Joehna's dress and we were all happy on how it came out. It was a bit big so I had it altered pa then it became too small so I had it altered a day before Joehna's bday. Katrina, Prim's secretary is soo bait too. I waited for the dress na lang kasi so she was kind enough to give me magazines while waiting. I love ZARA shoes, Tim wanted another shoe from Nordstrom but Joehna's size wasn't available. Her shoes went well with her dress naman and its a good buy at 1,550! Her clip I love din talaga. LOL! I fell inlove with it. :)

Other accessories: JONG JEWELRY (from Pangasinan)

Peso power: Earrings at 12,000; Bangle for 14,500 care of Lola

Joehna and I stayed in Pangasinan for 2 weeks since our house was under renovation. To kill our time and for bonding na din, we went to a local jeweler who has been my parents' jeweler for a long time. So I told them to make a jewelry for Joehna's bday. I specified what I wanted they did a very cute bling bling for my daughter :) I also ordered necklace and J pendant with diamonds but she wasn't able to wear it on the day.

Host & magician/illusionist: BEVERLY QUINTO & JOJO BANDANA

Peso power: 15,500

It was my 2nd time to watch their performance, we actually got them already last year for my nephew’s 5th bday. They weren’t my first choice BUT I was really glad that I had troubles getting my 1st choice. Why? It made way for getting better host and magician for Joehna’s bday! YEHEY! I love Ms. Bev, her energy is sooo grabe! I informed her that I’d be having a lot of kids ages 1-3, she managed to keep the party lively and fun for all the kids!!! She made EXTRA EFFORTS compiling songs for the party PLUS she taught belly dancing to the kids pa... everybody enjoyed! I highly recommend her talaga! For Jojo Bandana or Papa Jojo, I just love to watch him on stage. Always smiling and very gwapo sa stage ha (sorry, I just have to mention that kasi my family has this attitude na pag di masyado pleasing ang itsura, nawawalan ng gana to watch. hehe!)! Amazing ang illusions ni Jojo. It’s my first time to witness levitation and super wow! Ganda ng pagka-execute nya. We also needed to cover the mirrors behind the backdrop as it might reveal the secret of Jojo. He also requested Tim and his brother’s participation and until now puzzled pa din yung dalawa how everything happened. Good job, Jojo!

Magician/Ventrilloquist: RUTHER

Peso power: 8,500

Ruther is sooo funny :D I didn’t know it was him I was talking to not until turn na pala niya mag-perform. Bev and Ruther are practicing how to say JO-EH-NA’s name kasi. I was entertained by Ruther’s performance. I was glad I got him for ventri. I liked the human puppet act din. LOL! His performance was exceptional, we had to rush him pa nga coz overtime na kami and we had to cut some of his time pa. He very professional, I am looking forward to see his performance again.

Animal Crawlers: TIMEZONE

Peso power: undisclosed

I really made pilit my planner to get me this kahit pricey siya. Super in theme and the kids spent a lot of their time here. :) We both agreed last night that it was really a good choice compared to getting bounce. I am still inlove with it. I wish I can take 1 home.

Photo Booth: POSE AND PRINT

Peso power: 14,500 (4 hrs, unlimited prints)

Noel of Pose and print is very easy to talk to. I just sent him a message thru YM then confirmed after 10minutes or so. hehe! I just like his attitude, madali pakiusapan, walang arte. Very professional. I am thankful I got pose and print for Joehna’s party. It was a hit and hindi nawawalan ng tao sa booth. I’ll be getting them in my next parties (Baby # 2’s baptism and 1st bday and all bdays of Joehna!!! Promise!)

Side Entertainment: Kiddie Salon, Nail Art, Hair Art, Henna Tattoo, Glitter Tattoo, Jewel tattoo and Face painting c/o HI5PARTIES

Peso power: 11,000

The side of the ballroom was sooo busy because of the side entertainments! Even the adults were piling up to have their henna tatts done! Super di nawawalan din ng kids and pinagkakaguluhan ever! :) Sad lang kasi Joehna has sensitive skin, hindi ko siya napa-lagay ng tattoo... But I am happier (than sad) kasi the kids and adults had a great time having their nails, hair and skin done!

Foodcarts: STARBUCKS (150 frap + drip coffee/ 130 per cup), POTATO CORNER (150pax), TOFURIFFIC (200pax)

Peso power: I can’t remember... :S

All foodcarts were chosen by my husband :) He’s super into the preps din, very hands on. He even chose the flavors of taho to be served! He made a good choice with the foodcarts. We didn’t have any problems dealing with them and always smiling sila sa guests, hindi yung naka-simangot na parang ayaw magbigay :P

Entry Kit Printing: CONCEPT TECHNOLOGY

Peso power: 33 per page

I was supposed to DIY entry kits for the guests but then I wasn’t able to print them so I got Concept Technology. They are actually very fast ha! I called them Thursday afternoon, after quoting me a price, I deposited it under their account and the next day it was already ready :) Very smooth transaction... Her output is nice too ha! The paper is so smooth and lutang the colors talaga. Very nice!

Ponies/Horses as prize: RAUI n RAIA’S ONLINE STORE

Peso power: 1,300 each

The ponies were everybody’s crush! LOL! The horse neighs and may sound pa ng running horse. I looove it! Its perfect for prizes.

Some prizes: TOYLANDIA

Very nice toys. Easy to deal with... :) I am inlove with the doll houses talaga! Gives discount for bulk orders. I got 3 big boxes from her.

Prizes: TOYS R US, SHOPPERSVILLE, a toy store at Shangri-la

Courier for invitation shipping: AIR21 and LBC

My baby's 2nd birthday took place last April 9. we gave a simple dinner to some friends in our house only. my hubby is against having games as it was Maundy Thursday. hindi naman ganun ka-strict ang observance ng Holy Week dito, but my hubby wants it to be less noisy. with that, i let go of the program and games that i prepared. anyway marami pa namang birthdays to come. kahit na dapat sa tipid tips itong post ko, i-post ko na rin dito sa birthday kwento.  ;D

DIYs ko ay ang mga sumusunod:

1. invitations. i made two actually. isang pop-up invitation saka isang online invitation. i am so happy with my online invitation as i was able to make the characters animate na natuwa rin naman nakatanggap. http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#7

2. tarp-kuno. hehe. i designed it using PS and my friend printed it in A1-size. super-tipid! hehe. http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#1

3. CD give-away. sis eidan, gave me the link for the CD cover. tapos for the CD sticker naman, naka-download ako ng template for PS na kapag dun mo gagawin yung PS design mo, may guide na for you to cut. panalo yung template na yun! made my life easier.  :)

http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#12

4. cupcakes :P i made cheese and banana-flavored cupcakes, topped it with cream cheese frosting and decorated with themed-toothpick topper na DIY ko rin. yung cake/cupcake tree ay DIY rin. lumulundo nga eh, kasi lawanit lang yun. pero nilagyan ko na lang ng blocks na laruan ng baby ko sa ilalim para makaya nya yung weight ng lahat. hehe. http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#16]http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#16

5. lootbags. i made candy bags for girls and boys to take home. http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#13

6. decor. hindi na-picture-an yung decor that much kasi hubby ko in-charge dun. hay.  :( anyway, i placed banderitas pagpasok ng hallway, tapos may cabinet na dun ko nilagay yung mga give-aways (http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#14), tapos may naka-post na cut-out letters sa wall saying, they need to pick one before they go.  :) then, pagpasok ng living room, may mga balloons lined up na may "2" and some more balloons here and there and a banner sa isang side ng room. http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#17

7. food. mostly, i ordered. :) except for the spaghetti, hotdog sticks and the chicken shanghai.http://myl33n.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Lances_2nd_Birthday#18

the celebration's really simple but i still get praised for it. siguro kasi bihira talaga ang nagte-take ng effort sa birthday preparations dito. if they only knew you girls, baka magulat sila... hehe.

Matteo's party was last May 1, 2009 at dad's megamall.  We originally planned a small pool party but since he didn't have a celebration for his baptism last year (he had an impromptu baptism in the icu) we decided to have a slightly bigger but very simple celebration for him nalang.

Theme:  Mickey Mouse

Suppliers:
1. Dad's Megamall:  (+) cheap merienda buffet, accessible to guests coming from alabang and QC, has party packages, gave us the big function room even if our reservation is for 80pax only.

(-) didn't inform us that mega will be on sale on May 1 kaya super dami ng tao, didn't inform us that we need to get a clearance from the Mega administration for the boxes (favors, etc) we brought in, ignored my request for a bigger gift table (some gifts were on the floor na) and did not provide the kiddie tables and chair as agreed on.

rating:  2/5

2.  Host/Magician Chayno -booked him thru tgis as reco by dad's (+) very, very good host!  kids really listened to him and adults found him amusing, i just gave him the prizes and he handled the party like he planned it himself --ang galeng!  he came wearing an outfit accdg to our theme, his music was accdg to our theme too. my friends still keep on talking about him even after a week has passed na, very easy to deal with.

(-) his assistant looked unhappy...hehe.

rating: 5/5

3.  Cakemaker Sugarbox - ordered a 2 layer cake, w/ one edible layer. (+) cake looked great, transaction was easy --texts, calls and emails lang.

(-) edible cake was smaller than expected.

rating: 3/5

4.  Favors - gave away mickey mouse coin bank
/lunch boxes from 168 (+) everyone loved it, pwede sa boy and girl, it didn't look cheap (kahit i got it na mura lang).

(-) some had defective locks.

rating: 4/5

5.  Prizes - bought mickey mouse coloring book sets, coin banks, notebooks, small robots and small puzzles from landmark (+) very cheap but cute items

(-) i would've bought more kaya lang the items were very limited.

rating: 4/5

6.  Invites - just printed a few 4r photos from kodak in landmark, trinoma. asked one of matteo's ninongs to do the design.  (+) cheap, fast and very cute!

(-) none

rating: 5/5

7.  Tarp - design c/o matteo's ninong and it was printed by matteo's ninang

rating: 5/5

8.  favors for ninongs - got chocolates from Talk of the Town in Trinoma (+) cheap, fast and cute.

(-) they didn't say that it was the hershey's cookies and cream bar, what they showed me was the milk choco bar but when i opened one iba siya.

9.  favors for ninangs - studded cellphone charms from 168 placed incide small cloth bags from landmark (+) cheap and cute (-) none

10.  photo c/o My Focalpoint Photography (+) the pictures were great, they captured cute moments of matteo, very organized parang pang wedding hehe, chris and his wife were very easy to deal with, nice and pleasant

(-) for the 1st hour only one of them was taking pics because the other couldn't find a parking space in mega, took almost a week to give us the dvd pero worth the wait naman pala.

rating: 5/5

Will post the photos in a few days.  thanks and i hope you'll find this useful.  ;)
