My youngest son's 1st birthday
theme: Mickey Mouse and Friends
venue: McDonalds Quezon Avenue

pics:
http://sophiaphotography.multiply.com/photos/album/153/raw_pics_-_jans_bday_-_aug_8_by_marky
http://sophiaphotography.multiply.com/photos/album/152

party preps:

I bought the lootbags, non-edible items for the lootbags and the prizes at divisoria mall. Sarap mamili sa divimall kasi dami cheap items and since mickey mouse ang theme ng baby ko, lahat ng nabili ko pasok sa theme! Ako rin gumawa ng background tarp ng baby ko and I just have it printed. I also made the cupcake boxes. medyo sablay pero okay na rin kasi pasok sa theme ng baby ko ang design!

cake: shoppersville bakeshop -  9
mickey mouse cake and 35 pieces cupcakes
The cake is not super yummy pero okay na talaga para sa price nya.

day of the party:

rating of McDonalds Quezon Avenue:8

host- 8 okay na rin since friendly naman sya, hindi masyado malakas ang voice and hindi rin parang nasa punchline, laffline and style nya.

preparation- 6 Pangit kasi ng nagyari sa background because they just printed my son's name in a colored paper

http://sophiaphotography.multiply.com/photos/album/152#20

We arrived at 3:15pm, di pa sila nakaset-up kasi naman nga set-up time nila is 3:30pm. pero pati yung old balloons ( ben 10) nandun pa rin, eh medyo pangit na.

food- 9  The food served is okay and pati serving size. Actually, yung fries nagpaalam sila na iserve ng mas maaga kasi para di mainip yung guests since 4pm start ng party. Mas okay kasi yung guests mas na-enjoy nila yung fries because mainit pa and hindi yung parang dry na. We ordered the same set both for adults and kids kasi minsan kids gusto rin kung ano nakikita sa adults.

photographer - sophia simone photography: 10

For me, magaling sila because they were able to cover the important parts of event, and maganda shots nila. Very accommodating sa requests, early dumating ang mga photographers at gaganda ng shots ng mga kids.

yun lang po! thanks!  :)

Just sharing: Jax's 1st Bday Party
« Reply #264 on: August 21, 2009, 11:06:41 PM »

I just want to share my son’s 1st Birthday last August 16,2009.

Theme: Sesame Street

Venue: Tom’s World Amusement Center –Robinsons Place – Imus

Caterer: Alba’s Catering

Cake & Cupcakes: Cakes and Memories

Face Painting : Michelle Ann Miranda

Photography: Mr. Jojo Nibre

As early as May, hubby and I started looking for a Party venue for our bunso. We are looking for an air-conditioned venue because we want our guest to be as comfy as possible. We are expecting around 80 adults and 20 kids for our party. When we saw Tom’s World party venue, right there and then we made our down payment. The place is not that big but it can accommodate up to 120 people and we found their rates reasonable priced. They have a list of accredited caterers so we decided to try Alba’s Catering. If we had a choice, we’d go for Queensland Catering but since they are not accredited with Toms World, we had no other choice.
Our chosen Menu includes: Korean Beef stew, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Baby Back Ribs, Carbonara, Spring Rolls, Fruit Salad and Almond Jelly. For Kids: Spaghetti, hotdogs and Fried Chicken.

For the loot bags, I decided to prepare a special loot bag beides the lootbag thats already included in the package.  I went to Divisoria and looked for Sesame Street items. To my disappointment, there were not so many Sesame Street items there.   :-\ All I got was Elmo stationary kit, cups, and stickers. Then I just added candies.

For the cake, we had it personalized. Ms. Janet of Cakes and memories was so nice and was easy to talk to. Their cake is sooo cheap without sacrificing the quality and taste. The cupcakes we a blockbuster! I came to know about Cakes and Memories from an office mate. We always buy our cakes there because their moist choco cake is the BEST!  The design of the cupcakes I got from the internet and Ms.Janet took care of the rest.  ;D I have to add that she was able to prepare it on time.  ;)
All my guest were amazed with the cake and cupcakes and they said it taste great.

For entertainment, Our package included the Magician. His name is Glen. He entertained us for 30 minutes and it was the funniest 30 minutes ever. He was good. All the kids loved his tricks and even us adults can’t wait for his next magic trick.  We also had the Toms World mascot who rendered a dance for us. The audio visual presentation was made by me. hehe…
The Toms World staff and crew were also nice. They were able to deliver all of my husband’s demands. Hehe..

The face painting was a hit. The kids loved it. It was done by my high school friend chel an. She's a graduate of UP fine arts and doing face paintings and Murals as well.

The photos where taken my my officemates husband Mr.Jojo Nibre. The pictures were nice. He took every detail of the party.

For adult give-aways, I was on a tight budget so i bought boxes of Faber Castell ballpens in assorted colors. I placed tags and ribbon to them and tada! something for the moms and dads. Its useful too!  :D

For pictures, you can click on the following links:
http://www.picturetrail.com/chubbybaby18

I have 2 albums there of Jax's 1st Bday, one album was taken from my digicam and the other album was taken by Mr. Jojo Nibre

I also uploaded videos in Youtube. Just type in "chubbybaby18" and all the video clips from the party will be shown.

Thanks mga mommmies! The food from Alba was okay. My guest told me that it was filling and yummy. I got the kids meal from them too. I wasn't able to appreciate the food during the party kasi i was so busy waiting and greeting the guests and making sure that they're enjoying the party.

Our Menu for the Kids was Spaghetti, Hotdogs, Fried Chicken and juice for P125/kid

For adults, We chose the P245/head which includes, Carbonara, Baby Back ribs, Spring Rolls, Korean Beef Stew, and Chicken Cordon Bleu, Creamy Fruit Salad , Almond Jelly and iced tea.

We took home the extra food (left-overs) and thats when i got to really taste the food. The Korean beef stew and the baby back ribs were yummmmmmmy! :D

sis bluekiss16, you better check na lang their website. Iba na kasi ang rates nila ngayon and i think may mga freebies sila. When I booked them last June, 3.5k for 2 photographers. and i think nung july nagbigat sila ng discount sa mga taga GT.

« Reply #276 on: August 31, 2009, 05:43:48 PM »

last august 23 yung party ng kids ko. it was the most ngarag day of my life yata  ;D kase most were diy. i really enjoyed it and was really satisfied with the outcome naman but of course, since hindi naman ako pro na party planner madami pa ring dapat iimprove. initially, we planned to hire a party planner pero nag ambisyon ako na ako na lang hindi lang dahil nagco-cost cutting but more so because i love doing it on my own.

here are the details:

THEME: JOJO's Circus

VENUE: Philam homes clubhouse
-okay naman yung venue kaya lang medyo mainit, hindi yata kinaya ng aircon..

FOOD: Verleo catering
-masarap yung food, malaki yung serving, sobra dami pa nga natira, may take home pa yung ibang guests. the waiters were very polite and pro
-nagdagdag na kame ng desserts para sa dessert buffet, fresh fruits (grapes, banana, strawberries, cherries, melon, pineapples, kiwi)
- 3 different flavors ng cake from joy san gabriel (kilaueia, carrot and fresh fruit cheesecake)
-lechon

HOST: Marcus (host, ventriloquist, magician)
-all the guests, kids and adults, loved him

CAKE: 10-inch cake for blowing, mini cakes, cupcakes by emily uy of sugarbox
-i was really impressed with the designs, sobrang detailed and the they were all yummy. emily was so nice. when i first talked to her gusto ko sana i rent yung rotating tower kaya lang medyo pricey, 3k rental fee. budget ko for the cake was 10k lang so i told her yung regular tower na lang. the day of the event came and to my amazement, pinadala nya yung rotating tower ng walang extra charge. 2 thumbs up talaga...ganda ng designs, yummy yung cakes, at super nice ang set up!

PARTY PLANNER: si hubby at ako
-we rented the styro backdrop and swags from emmie, sila na din nag set up pero the rest DIY na,  kame na ni hubby gumawa..invitations, venue dress up (balloon decorations, centerpieces), souvenirs

SOUVENIRS/GIVEAWAYS: tumblers, mini backpaks, and lootboxes for the kids. mini cakes and cupcakes for adults.
-we bought the blank tumblers in divi then si hub na gumawa ng layout and nag print. personalized lootboxes (filled with candies, lollies, chocolates, cookies) and backpacks were ordered from lhoelit

INVITATIONS: designed and printed by my husband
-its really helpful na meron kang creative and knowledgeable sa ganitong bagay na asawa. naka-save kame in a way kase nga gawa ni hub.
3-fold invites printed in photopaper, hard card case [textspeak!] ginamit namin na envelope bought from national bookstore. kung pinagawa namin sa iba malamang mahal per piece
-si hub na din gumawa ng name tags, thank you cards

GAMES AND PRIZES: prior to the party i talked to marcus(host) na sana madaming games kase kids love games and we want them to really enjoy the party. we bought medyo madaming toys (expensive and cheap ones) para naman if possible lahat ng kids na umattend ng party may maiuuwing prize.
the rule was each winner will get jojo play money and they will be the ones to choose and shop for the toys they want. kaaliw kase it encouraged them to participate to earn more money.  ;D

PHOTO/VIDEO: hindi na kame nahirapan humanap ng photographer kase my hubby is in showbusiness so madaming resources. yung dalawang photographers were both his friends..

LIGHTS AND SOUNDS: ASMS mobile
-friend din ni hubby

FOOD CART: frito frio
-fried ice cream

ACROBAT CLOWNS- c/o my sister
-circus theme so dinagdagan din namin ng acrobat clowns (juggling, monocycling, balancing acts)

CLOTHES: guess, maldita
-eto nahirapan ako maghanap kase we didnt want the kids to wear costumes. we just wanted our outfits to match. my daughter wud be like mini me and my son wud be mini coki (my husband). sinuyod ko ang mga malls para maghanap ng shop na merong dress/clothes na pang mommy and daughter and the only shop i found was Maldita. Yung pang daddy and kendrick kase madali lang hanapan. aggie my daughter wore the same dress as mine and kendrick, my son wore the same outfit as my hubs'.

all in all, the party was successful, nahirapan nga lang ako since i was the party planner, sobrang naging busy ako to sa pag entertain ng guests, giving away souvenirs. my husband had to leave for davao pa nung mismong araw ng party, hindi na nya tinapos, so naiwan lahat ng tasks sakin. nagkagulo din sa pagbili ng prizes yung mga kids and moms, hindi kinaya nung 2 attendants. kinulang ako ng man-power..that was basically naging pagkakamali ko. next time i know better!
at the end of the day. moms will always be moms, lahat kakayanin at gagawan ng paraan for their kids' happiness..
lahat ng efforts ko were rewarded when my daughter told me "mommy the party was amazing! i really enjoyed it!" sulit na lahat lahat!
