Davao Day Two
A sleepy hullo from Davao!
We just came from a nearby spa called Ayurveda (Mabini cor. Avancena Street) and I’m feeling totally relaxed. I finally got a hot stone massage–something I’ve been longing to try for ages–and it just set me back P225! Can you say “muy cheapo”? Everything was 25% off, but even at full price, it still would’ve come out much cheaper than a Manila massage. My other companions got regular full-body massages at less than P200, and another got one with two masseuses for just P260. Ooh, that’s something I’d like to try, two pairs of hands kneading all the knots away!
I came across this spa when I got lost looking for a coffee shop yesterday. I walked into a badminton place to ask for directions, and across the street, I spied the sign. That night, as we were walking home from having a buffet dinner at Nanay Bebeng’s (bottomless melon juice!), we decided to check it out. The list of services and prices appealed to us, so we promised to go back tonight. Promise fulfilled, bodies relaxed!
We had to work today, of course–had a couple of shoots, checked out this humongous furniture store, wrote an article. But we found time to visit Blugre, a local coffee shop famous for its Durian Coffee. I’d never tried durian and I’m not a coffee drinker, but I thought this drink was pretty tasty. It was a good way to introduce me to the pungent fruit.
I’m about to pass out so I’ll just go hit the shower and get this oil off of me. Goodnight!
