I am blogging live from the beautiful city of Davao! It’s my first time ever here–in fact, it’s my first time ever in Mindanao so yay! It took me a while to find this coffee shop with free wireless internet access though–I had to walk around aimlessly from our little hotel, with about five people pointing me to five different directions! Lucky I found the place before dark.

First impressions: Davao has got a pretty nice airport, it’s really clean, and it’s surprisingly warm! I bought a jacket thinking it would be as chilly as Manila has been lately (freakish weather)–forgetting that this area is closer to the equator. Apparently, in Davao, the sun is merciless come March, and typhoon season never comes.

We had lunch at Dencio’s today (thanks to our gracious hosts!), at the highest point of Davao City I think. The view was awesome. We have a bit of free time on our hands, so we’re trying to figure out what to do with ourselves. We’ve received a few suggestions, but haven’t really decided yet.
