Migraine Girl

Filed under: My Week So Far — Tisha Alvarez @ 11:26 am

Spent the weekend with intermittent jolts of pain in the back of my head and my neck. It wasn’t very pleasant, and I didn’t even know what was causing it. I would get a migraine one spot at a time before, never like this. I used to be terrified that it was caused by chocolate. But I haven’t had any chocolate in almost a week (would you believe?) so I’ve ruled that out. Phew. And it wasn’t caused by the sisig or super oily crispy kangkong I had Saturday night—cholesterol overload is a different kind of pain altogether.

I keep thinking it’s a nerve thing, so I’ll be seeing a neuro soon. Sure hope it’s nothing some pill or diet adjustment can’t fix.

  1. That’s not a migraine. Migraines shouldn’t affect the neck area and you didn’t seem to mention a sensitivity to light which is a symptom.

But yup, migraines are chemical imbalances so it would have had something to do with your diet.

But since it involves your neck, it’s probably some form of strain.

  2. Ah, the neck pain was different at first–that was a muscle thing. The head pain spread from one part to both sides of my head.

Then the neck thing turned into some other kind of pain…not muscular because I’ve experienced a lot of that after years of running around and being malikot. Haha. But it just happened simultaneously with the annoying head pain.

I don’t know why I’m even typing this. I should be talking to a doctor. Oh schedule, please clear up.

  3. i started having migraines since i was 15. just recently i had a migraine attack lasting for 4 days with pain coming and going. that means 4 days of no work too. can you imagine that?

migraine attacks are triggered by several factors. too hot, too cold, peanuts and chocolates and not eating when you are already hungry are some of these factors.

in your case, i think it’s really best to check with your neuro.

  4. Four days?! That’s horrible! I sure hope you’re feeling alright.
