FN Blog - Seven heads are better than one!

It’s a sad way to start the day when you find out one of the most talented actors of our time is dead. I can’t say I’m a big Heath Ledger fan but he was in my top five list of Hollywood crushes when my friends and I were comparing notes a few years ago. But more than that, I respected his work, and that he wasn’t going after the big, blockbuster movie roles. I found it so sweet when the Brokeback cast was on Oprah and Anne Hathaway was talking about Heath and Michelle William’s budding romance—how the two would shyly look at each other, how they ended up sharing one trailer as filming progressed.

I know it’s a bit silly for me to feel sad because I didn’t even know him personally. (Although my sadness is nowhere near the grief I felt when Kurt Cobain died.) But just the thought of his life cut short—this highly capable, anti-Hollywood young man, father to a two-year-old—affects me somehow.
