Merry Christmas, World!

Filed under: The best gift for humanity — Tisha Alvarez @ 3:23 pm

It’d be awesome if I could give everyone in the world…

…a stuff-yourself-silly noche buena, because good food puts people in a great mood, and would thus make the world a better place.

Best Gift

Filed under: The best gift for humanity — JR Isaac @ 3:11 pm

This season’s key question is the greatest gift you can offer. I would give humanity post-it-stickers as a reminder to everyone that our greatest gift is having the freedom to choose and acting on it. It is the liberty of claiming what you can be and making the most of it for a balanced well being.

With a post-it-sticker, you can write and claim anything that ignites your passion, tickles your funny bone and completes you without judgment and explanation.

And from my last party I have attended at warehouse 135, it was a parade of character fully expressed as they celebrate this season of giving.

The Games People Play

Filed under: Tips — Tisha Alvarez @ 5:38 pm

We’ve all played Trip to Jerusalem, Bring Me, and the Boat Is Sinking countless times. So at your next family reunion, why not try one of these party games?

Kim Jong Il. I learned this game from Eugene Levy, who played Jim’s endearing dad in the American Pie movies. He was talking to David Letterman about how his family spends the holidays, and he brought up this game. He said that, translated, it means “Name that tune”!

Cheers For World Peace!

Filed under: The best gift for humanity — Faye Ilogon @ 3:44 pm

Okay, so I’ve opted for the Miss Universe answer. But, let me tell you that I also thought about giving humanity 30-minute orgasms. Then I remembered that orgasms would not make everyone happy. Little kids, I imagine, would much rather have toys or candies than 30-minute climaxes. (At least, that’s what I think.)

Why world peace? Well, because, as the recent Manila Peninsula snafu has proved to us, violence (in the form of a badly planned coup d’etat or what-not) cramps everyone’s style. I mean, just because everyone’s really concerned about who gets to be president, suddenly there was a blasted curfew.

A show I’m dying to watch

Filed under: My Week So Far — Tisha Alvarez @ 11:26 am

At dinner a few nights ago, some girl friends and I indulged in every girl’s secret favorite pastime—dissing girls we don’t know. What girl has never talked smack about someone she’s not friends with? Girls are nasty creatures, I tell you. It’s totally unfair, for sure, but as my friends justified, “Ginagawa din naman sa atin’yun eh, so OK lang!” What goes around comes around, indeed!

D divulged how she recently met this seemingly perfect creature. The woman was so beautiful, so sexy, and she was nice to boot. While D genuinely enjoyed her company, she took it upon herself to find at least one little flaw in Ms. Perfect! (She found one, by the way, some kind of rash on her arm.) It’s petty, I know, but we all need to believe that there is some form of justice in the world, that in one way or another, our lives are somewhat better than the lives of the Ms. Perfects. This is perhaps the very premise behind America’s Most Smartest Model.

The Search for the World’s Ugliest Teapot

Filed under: My Week So Far — Faye Ilogon @ 9:44 am

“Hey, you want to see the world’s ugliest teapot?”

That’s what my friend Lorie asked me when I went over to her house last Saturday. Bummed out from my apartment’s still-unfixed water pipe leak—which has spiked up my monthly water bill from P100 to P2,500—I ended up saying, “Yes, I want to see that teapot.”

Lorie then proceeded to order me to close my eyes before she presented me with the…creation…that you see. My reaction? “Holy shit, ano yan?” I asked Lorie, who was beside herself with disgust. She then related: “My mom bought this at a sale somewhere. I mean, she was even worried that they might run out of supplies. Imagine that! I told her, ‘Yuck, who would buy that?’”

Here Comes the Trio Supremacy

Filed under: Events — JR Isaac @ 6:00 pm

Motorola, Shu Uemura and Globe Platinum celebrated a successful first year together as marketing partners, in a culminating event dubbed as Supreme—the third chapter of their newfound venture at the newly opened Ascend Club on Bonifacio High Street. It was a sensorial event where the guests were taken in for an evolutionary ride and explored the synergy of the telecommunications, beauty, and technology into perfecting the luxurious life of supremacy. The occasion also served as a supreme gratitude to their well wishers who were rewarded with loads of exciting tokens.
