We had our staff photos taken for the magazine recently, and as usual, photographer Ocs Alvarez (whom I fondly call “Tito”) snapped some real gems. He has a talent for capturing me unready or making weird faces or just goofing around…

Sources of Christmas stress:
• Huge crowds at the mall (I remember when I was still working in Makati, I made the mistake of walking on the walkway from Dela Rosa to Landmark right after work—sardinas! I literally had to go with the flow.)
• Traffic!
• Looong lines at the cashier
• Expenses, expenses, expenses (it’s also my birthday month so there’s the standard blowout)
• Attending three parties in one night
• Weight gain (from all the said parties)
• Finding the perfect gifts for the people on your list

With my kind of job I have barely two weeks of work since we all know by the 15th of December, work tends to slow down. It is a known fact that we do have the longest Christmas celebration in the globe, which is a disadvantage since this shortens the working pace in our business. And how I deal with all the holiday stress-related moments is very simple. I work more than the long and usual hours. Now, my weekends are devoted to finishing deadlines and cementing contracts before everyone slows down to party. Keeping a composed disposition is a challenge, and I hate to think of added facial lines. And I keep in my mind that I will be rewarding my self with a post-Christmas holiday in sunny Boracay.
And speaking of Boracay, I was in the island for a revolutionary party when Eventscape Manila’s Stephen Ku once again made waves to the shores of Boracay as Motorola presented the first Sem Break Confidential event. Constantly changing the party landscape and making it hotter than ever, Sem Break Confidential was adapted from the infamous annual Cancun spring break parties with Motorola redefining what partying is all about.

For some reason, I found a copy of The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera in my room. Its yellowish pages had those brownish speckles that betrayed its age—but I can’t even remember buying or borrowing this book!
It was a familiar title, and it was even turned into a movie, so I had such high expectations. It’s heralded by some as a post-modern masterpiece, which kind of left me confused. Because honestly, I hated it! I struggled through it (because I hate starting a book without finishing it). It was utterly…unbearable!

Finally, In My Bubble drinks are served! I experienced the launch of Luminaria “Bubble Bar”: The New Mobile Club, the newest innovation in clubbing as Motorola brings the hippest mobile club Bubble Bar. The grand event, which happened at The Bonifacio Global City, gave an exciting alternative for chill out time.
An extravagant masquerade party marked the grand launch of the Bubble Bar that was organized by fashion designer Kat Sy, writer/publicist Thons Edano and movie producer Arlene Sy. In a most stylish event that unveiled the ultra-chic mobile club, the lucky guests enjoyed a sophisticated clubbing experience. Livening up the whole party was DJ Marie of Calypso, DJ Luke Orbos and Dj Mark Nicosci who spinned out their upbeat mixes.

When I was a kid, my grand plan was to win Miss Universe, then move to Hollywood and become a star. I was supposed to be a triple threat—singer-dancer-actress, and incredibly good at all three (rather than just being a Jill of all trades).
But then I never grew to meet the minimum height requirement for any sort of beauty pageant. Olats! So much for Hollywood. I am thus left to fantasize that I am one of the following:

Recently, I was asked by Bayo to help launch KC Concepcion as their newest endorser of the brand. I had conceptualized a cocktail before the fashion show at the Shang-Mall. Mounting a party to meet the fashion media and formally introduce her in a relax and casual manner was the concept we intended to do.
However it resulted the other way–a media madness circus. KC and I didn’t expect the attendance of TV and entertainment media. Both of us were so glad how the she was openly and warmly welcomed by respected media personalities from both the fashion and entertainment industries.
