Cinematic Moments

Filed under: My Life's Most Cinematic Moment — JR Isaac @ 6:00 pm

Everyday can be a cinematic moment to me. My work is always swamped with deadline party stories. Article deadlines are like Pinoy super heroes, simply because no matter how many times I beat a deadline, another one has taken over. Just like in Pinoy movies—no matter how many fights and shooting scenes there are, the hero never dies.

My week begins with my submission deadline for my Phil Star column, and ends with my blog entry deadline. Every 15th of the month is content submission for next month’s issue of Circuit and 25th of the month is partyphiles section layout for Preview magazine. Imagine the drama of hopping from one event to another, and still having a pleasant conversation without being “trying hard” or “plastic.” The parade of diverse characters spices up the scene from what they are wearing, who are they with, and how they behave at the party. It is guaranteed action-packed as long as you are keen observer of body language. Being active in the action-packed circuit scene and writing about it is like an unending scene from a telenovela.

Every feast I attend is never the same scene, just like the latest Motorola party together with Big Fish where in they brought into the party shore of Manila one of the most-in-demand DJs in the club scene today, DJ Armin Van Buuren. Known for his trance music, Filipinos saw him perform his latest dance album, “ A State Of Trance 2007.” At the dance party held in A venue, Motorola users were given complimentary tickets when they flashed their phone, which is the newest way to access the latest happenings in the city. Everyone was taken into a melodic trance music multi-experience complete with indoor fireworks, laser light display, and lighted dance platform.
