Deep Breathely
Pardon my absence, but to quash my burnout blues, I sort of took a breather with my lovey-dove for a few days in his home state of San Francisco to stop and smell the flowers, not to mention…

watched some pelicans by a lake…

looked at modern art at the De Young Museum

and more art

and more art (i.e., NY socialite Nan Kempner’s closet that’s a veritable history of 20th century fashion)

checked out the organic boutique hotel, Hotel Vitale

drooled over the goods in food markets…

went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to get mesmerized by jellyfish…

more jellyfish

and even more jellyfish

watched fish float

ogled sea anemones

and sharks!

watched a diver feed the fish some squid snacks

played footsie

sat in cafés to kill time

had an unbelievable (taste- and price-wise, thus the grumpy look) breakfast at Boulette’s Larder

bonded with my niece (left, hopping) and nephews (right, rocking)

and watched her costume fashion show (featured here: fairy grunge)

consumed vast amounts of chocolate

tasted the freshest ahi tuna and avocado…
I had the best, most incredibly relaxing time. No deadlines, no pressure, no agenda, no makeup (well, okay, just lipstick), no high heels, no small talk, no chica-chica/beso-beso, no stress. I inhaled the freshest air, ate the freshest food, ran in redwood forests with centuries old-trees, saw sea otters, met AW’s best friends and relatives and saw the houses he grew up in.
I recommend it to everyone. After I first joined Summit in 1995, I went for seven straight years without availing of my vacation leave. I didn’t see the need for it. Of course, I got intense migraines and ulcers. I still do from time to time, which only reminds me, time to take another vacation.
I know what you mean. I did the same thing with my recent vacation and it felt so good to just sit and breathe and be somewhere you’ve never been…and play footsy…and hold hands
