Those (so)ber months

Filed under: The -ber months are here! — JR Isaac @ 7:49 pm

Only in the Philippines are the “Ber” months given this kind of attention—I am fascinated that even Femalenetwork.com is anticipating them!

But actually, this topic gave me a jolt and made me realize what madness there is to be expected very soon.

Of course, it is all about the beginning of the Christmas season, and this early, most of us are already ecstatic about it and even plan our lives around it.

As your party pal, allow me to share with you my tried-and-tested tips how to be a responsible party animal in the impending season of drinking and merrymaking:

1. Top-Ups: avoid top-ups (drinking straight up) so you can keep track of your intake.
2. A Bite to Eat: eating before or while drinking slows alcohol absorption.
3. Water: alternate your drinks with water, stay refreshed.
4. Spacers: soft drinks “spacers” between drinks can help you pace yourself.
5. Drive time: think about how you are going to get home before you leave home and are still sober—designate a driver or make sure cabs will be available.

And since this September everyone is jumpstarting the party season, check out these upcoming events this month! For more party schedules, log on towww.CircuitMag.net.

  1. One more reminder for holiday parties — never ever get drunk during the office Christmas party. If you can avoid alcohol altogether during the office get-together all the better. At least you keep your career intact … =)
