January is arguably shopaholics’ favorite month, given the abundance of end-of-season sales!
As FemaleNetwork’s shopping blog, ShopCrazy, keeps us updated on the latest sales, this month’s issue of Cosmopolitan lets us in on a few “sale strategies” to help us make the most of sale shopping.
- Make a beeline for department stores as they have the most merchandise for turnover.
- Take advantage of three-day sales on pay-day weekends by going early on a Friday, giving you first dibs on great finds sans the crowd.
- Inquire about the return policy before buying sale items.
- Always keep receipts.
- Befriend salespersons and sign up for stores’ email lists so you are always updated on sales and promos.
- Shop with a friend or a female family member so you can benefit from promos such as “buy one, get the next one at 50 percent off.” But if you’re alone and can’t seem to find a second piece you’d be willing to buy, let it go.
