Japan - Addicted to pictures of pedestrian fashion? You're not the only one. The success of the sartorialist on Style.com proves there's big demand for "real fashion."

When one says street fashion, Harajuku inevitably comes to mind. A stroll around this iconic district explains why. You'll find the glamorous crowd en route to Omotesando, the young kitschy clique walking to Takeshita street, and cosplayers punctuating the already colorful Harajuku fashion scene. It's no surprise this area has been a stake out for street fashion photographers (called "snap" in Japanese) and, of course, the crowd of fashionistas waiting for their moment to shine.
A documentary was aired locally about the whole "snap" dynamic in Harajuku. For those interested in how to catch photographers' discerning eye, they offered some tips:
- Don't overdress. There's nothing worse than looking like you're trying too hard.
- Be comfortable. "Snaps" choose those who look natural and in their element.
- Dress ahead of the season. Magazines and blogs always look forward. It's not enough to just wear current trends.
- It's in the mix. Layering is one of the easiest ways to catch their attention. Learn to layer well; it's an instant ticket.
If there's no way for you to get photographed while strutting your style in Harajuku, feast your eyes on those who made it. Click on: http://www.style-arena.jp/en/
