While boundary-breaking, avant-garde fashions may be the cup of tea for a select group of people, most women would sooner fill up their wardrobes with subtly stylish, elegant items they can wear over and over and mix and match in myriad ways. If you fall into the latter (and we're sure many FNites do), then the Holiday 2012 collection of Unica Hija is perfect for you.
As soon as songstress Sarah Geronimo emerged in a pink capsleeve blouse and white skinny trousers, it became evident that there clearly was no room for androgyny or masculinity here. Pretty pastels and vibrant hues were splashed on to modish dresses, flowing blouses, and floral skirts. Silhouettes were belted, tucked in, or nipped at the waist to show off the womanly form. Even traditionally boyish pieces like trousers and shorts were softened up by being paired with Peter Pan collars, ruffles, and embroidery.
All in all, it was an unabashedly feminine collection to satisfy everyone, from the woman who prefers her basics with a sweet twist to the most girly of dressers. Then again, with a name like Unica Hija, did we really expect anything less?
