Over 20 Reinvented Heels and Flats from Gucci

Familiar styles get a updated twist in this new footwear collection. By Stephanie Castillo

In fashion, designer labels are immortalized not by entire collections—no matter how incredible—but by a few select pieces that prove to be simply unforgettable. This is the idea that the latest line of footwear from Gucci seems to abide by; the most iconic pairs are tweaked, rather than transformed or completely replaced with new styles. And while changes in color and material render the shoes -ber month-ready, it is the exquisite familiarity of these “oldies but goodies” that makes them so appealing to the avid fashionista.

For instance, the “Daisy” T-strap sandal sheds its previous metallic skin for neutral mock-croc and stern suede. The chunky "Karen" bootie, on the other hand, is spruced up with rich, varnished crocodile leather that encases even the entire heel. Then there’s the extra-comfy “Cathrine” loafer—or “moccasin,” as is dictated by fashion parlance—that reverts from a high-gloss, schoolgirl-sharp patent leather to a textured, “worn-in” pelt.

Other steppers that made the cut are the super-slim thigh-high “Karen” boots, the zipped-to-ankle “Tile” bootie, and a sweet thong sandal called the “Glam Orchid” for its single floral embellishment.

See 21 of the latest designer pairs from Gucci in the gallery below.

Gucci is available at Greenbelt 4, Rustan’s Tower, and Ayala Center in Makati.
