Not only can you listen to a Rico Blanco creation—you can now wear it.After a brief hiatus, the talented musician is back with a vengeance—not only does he have a spanking new solo album called Your Universe, he also designed a t-shirt line for alternative clothing and lifestyle brand Human.
Any music lover is familiar with Rico’s work. The former frontman—including pianist, guitarist and chief songwriter—for rock band Rivermaya set music and lyrics to some of the most iconic songs in OPM history. In his “absence” in the music industry, Rico dabbled in other interests such as painting and photography.
Rico showcases his visual creativity in his collaboration with Human, for which he created collections of graphic statement tees. His first collection consisted mainly of monochromatic tees with graphic illustrations, while the latest collection features vivid patterns and bold designs in bright colors.
All shirts are said to exemplify Rico’s own style sense and personality. Rico approached the process of designing the shirts in pretty much the same way he does his other creative endeavors: “…no over-thinking, mostly [through] imagination and gut feel.”
Paired with Human jeans—in classic black or blue, or colored—and worn with other Human separates (like jackets, vests, and other accessories), Rico’s tees make a style statement for hip individuals. Even girls can rock his designs.
