Invest in good quality combs and brushes. Check them periodically for any nicks—which can cause split ends—and replace them when you do. After bathing, use a big-toothed comb to help prevent tangles and minimize damage. When combing out tangles, start from the ends of hair and work your way up. Avoid backcombing since this damages hair cuticles.
Apply protective products when heat styling. Use leave on conditioner, heat protector, or styling serum when using hair dryer and other tools that use direct heat. Cover your hair, too, whenever youl go under direct sunlight.
One of the hair products you can try to immediately fix damaged hair (especially when you do not have the time or resources to go to a salon) is Pantene’s new 3-Minute Miracle Treatment Ampoule, recommended by the stylists mentioned above. It promises to help repair three months of damage in just three minutes, with a unique formula that supposedly repairs, strengthens, and hydrates hair inside and out.
