Who would have thought that a bath time routine from 69 B.C. would still have an impact in many beauty routines across the globe some thousands of years later? A mixture of milk and honey has been widely rumored to be Cleopatra's favored beauty ritual. Surely if it were good enough for a queen, it should be good enough for the rest of us. There are two things to keep in mind when using milk as a beauty product: 1. It is best to stick to milk that is full fat, and 2. substituting with almond, goat, or rice milk is possible.

Cleanser
Do away with store-bought cleansers by going all natural. Whether it is a fresh carton of milk or even something past its consume-by date, cold milk can be used as a facial cleanser. Apply directly on face and neck and let dry for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off. Skin is softer and fairer instantly!

Toner
To use as a toner, simply soak a cotton ball or pad with this cold drink and apply just like you would a regular toner. For a anti-oxidant hydration-packed toner, mix together milk and green tea with a 1:1 ratio.  To get best results, use milk that is unpasteurized. The reason milk unclogs pores while moisturizing and zapping away pimples is because of the lactic acid component.

Moisturizing Face Mask
A mashed up banana mixed with a tablespoon of milk can be applied to the skin for an all-natural moisturizing face mask. Leave on the skin for half an hour while you watch your favorite show or while you do chores around the house. Rinse and pat dry. To get top-notch hydration, be sure to use lukewarm water for rinsing.

Exfoliating Paste
Alpha Hydroxy Acid or AHA is naturally found in milk. This, along with oatmeal and honey, can be used as a perfect exfoliating treatment mask. All you will need is oatmeal (uncooked), half a tablespoon of honey, and 2 tablespoons of milk. Mix together and commence scrubbing! To use for overall body exfoliation, simply make a bigger batch.

Energizing Face Pack
Hagardo Versoza from the stress of the daily grind or maybe your skin needs an instant pick-me-up from a night of partying? Dull skin can easily be revitalized by mixing together vitamin E, one tablespoon honey, two tablespoons of milk, and one tablespoon of aloe vera. Generously apply on your skin with a cotton pad and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Purifying Solution
The whites of eggs are popularly used in many DIY skincare products due to their purifying agents. With two tablespoons of milk, add one egg white and incorporate thoroughly. With a clean brush, apply mixture to the face and leave on for 30 minutes. You will feel its tightening effects as it sits on your skin. Rinse off and moisturize after. Don't fret about the egg yolks, you can use it for our nail strengthening recipe.

Acne Scar Treatment
Put together two tablespoons baking soda, one tablespoon mashed potato {boil a potato and mash, refrain from using instant mashed potato mixes} , one tablespoon tomato paste, and half a cup of milk. Apply the creamy mixture onto affected areas and leave for 30 minutes, then thoroughly rinse out. Since tomatoes can cause varied reactions especially to those who have sensitive skin, take a patch test using the inside of your elbows first.

Anti – Aging Skin Pack
The lack of malleability of skin is a clear sign of aging. In order to increase flexibility, add one teaspoon of flaxseed oil to two tablespoons of milk, and half a mashed up banana. Apply onto face and let sit for under an hour before rinsing completely.

Skin Brightening Potion
Combine together equal parts of lemon juice and milk. With a q-tip, dip into the mixture and apply onto the affected spot to clear up acne and treat hyperpigmentation. You can also use a cotton pad to pat onto larger areas. Use a moisturizer and sunscreen

Relief from Minor Burns
The quickest relief from a mouthful of spicy food is to drink milk. Similarly, you can utilize milk to help in relieving minor burns. Soak a washcloth in some milk and apply on affected skin. If the said area is small enough to fit a cup, bowl, or basin, you can pour milk and soak the said part directly into the milk.

Rejuvenating Bath Soak
Pour two cups of milk, three tablespoons of lemon juice, six tablespoons of baking soda, half a cup of olive oil, and a cup of honey into a warm bath. Stir and let the mixture steep before settling in for a good rejuvenating soak. A quick rinse in the shower afterwards will complete the regimen.

Nail Strengthener
Soak nails in a bowl containing: two beaten egg yolks {no whites please}, ¼ cup milk, vitamin E, and one tablespoon honey for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse away mixture from hands and nails before massaging cuticle oil. Calcium from the milk, the protein from the eggs, and vitamin E will make once brittle and weak nails hard as rocks and ready for that next coat of polish.

Foot Soak
Four tablespoons of Epsom salt (can be found in drugstores and health food stores), added to two cups of milk, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and enough warm water to soak your feet in will provide relaxing relief for tired feet.  Achieve ultimate relaxation by adding a drop or two of your favorite essential oil to the foot  bath. Soak for 10 minutes. Slough away some dead skin with a pumice stone, pat try, and moisturize for a quick home foot spa treatment.

Damaged & Dry Hair Treatment Mask
Blend together: one tablespoon olive oil, half a banana, three tablespoons of milk, and one tablespoon honey until you achieve the consistency of your typical hair conditioner. Apply onto the hair and let sit for 60 minutes. Rinse completely and immediately see shinier and smoother hair. For severely damaged hair, apply mask once a week.

Deep Conditioning Cream
In a bowl add one tablespoon of yogurt { preferably plain or unsweetened}, one tablespoon mayonnaise, one tablespoon milk, and one tablespoon olive oil. Massage onto scalp and leave on for 40 minutes to an hour. You can wrap your head in cling film or a shower cap. Rinse out properly before shampooing and conditioning as per usual.
