Stars and supermodels alike strutted their stuff on the catwalk for
Folded & Hung and sister label
Jellybean, making this style spectacle one of the most hotly-anticipated—and heavily-attended—fashion shows at the recently-concluded
Philippine Fashion Week.
Actresses
Anne Curtis and
Angel Locsin, socialites
Divine Lee and
Tim Yap, model/actors
Xian Lim and
Luis Alandy, and top surfer
Luke Landrigan all modeled for Folded & Hung. The label’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection was marked by an urban hippie vibe popularized by the Coachella music festival. Womenswear included flowy,
slitted dresses; printed
crop tops; shredded
denim shorts; and an assortment of
swimsuits. Menswear channeled an arsty musician with
graphic tees, grunge-y
plaid buttondowns, and a whole lot of
ripped denim.
Then there was the Jellybean show, headlined by starlet
Maja Salvador. The collection was frothy and sweet, with lots of bows, lace, tulle, florals, and beadwork to satisfy any girly-girl.
Skirts and
dresses were cinched with sashes or adorned with ribbons, while
tops and
blouses showed off the feminine form with asymmetrical or sweetheart necklines.
