Which movie father is your dad?

Is he most like Thomas Schell, Tom Hunt, Sonny Koufax, or Chris Gardner? Take the quiz. By Belle Yambao

Are you a daddy's girl? No matter how old you are, sharing a close bond with your father is never a bad thing. Is he goofy and sweet, stern but loving, fun and imaginative, or approachable and understanding?

Star in your own movie with your dad by taking the quiz below. Find out if he's most like Thomas Schell (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close), Tom Hunt (Cheaper by the Dozen), Sonny Koufax (Big Daddy), or Chris Gardner (The Pursuit of Happyness). Don't forget to share your result in a comment!

1 .) You just had a bad day at work. When you get home, you rant to your dad, and he:
  1. Tells you your boss sucks and challenges you to a video game battle to get your mind off work.
  2. Gives you practical suggestions for the problems you have at work.
  3. Suggests you crumple paper or break plates together to let off some steam.
  4. Listens to you quietly and tells you things will look up afterward.
2 .) How did your father react when you got your first boyfriend?
  1. He glared at your boyfriend and told him he didn't like him.
  2. He asked your boyfriend for his parents' credentials and interrogated him on his plans for the future.
  3. He gave your boyfriend a list of things to do to get his approval--only they were all impossible to achieve.
  4. He clapped him on the back and had merienda with him to get to know him.
3 .) When you were young, what did your father usually give you on your birthday?
  1. Ice cream, cake, and sparkly things
  2. The latest Barbie doll
  3. Something he made himself
  4. Something you put on your wishlist
4 .) You had a fun night out with your girlfriends and missed the curfew still imposed at home. What does your dad do when you get back?
  1. He doesn't even notice you came home late because he fell asleep too early.
  2. He lectures you on responsibility but gives you a hug afterward.
  3. He gives you a rundown of all the bad things that could have happened to you on the road at such a late hour.
  4. He doesn't say anything, but he grounds you for a few days.
5 .) You're having dinner with your family at a restaurant when you accidentally spill some sauce on your white blouse. What does your dad do?
  1. He "accidentally" spills some sauce on his dress shirt too. Now you match.
  2. He gives you his jacket to wear, and it effectively covers the stain.
  3. He tries to remove the stain himself--and if it doesn't work, he's even got a spare shirt in the car!
  4. He sees you're mortified and asks the waiter if your family can have the rest of the food to go.
6 .) His best trait as a parent is his:
  1. Carefree attitude
  2. Industriousness
  3. Sense of innovation
  4. Ability to treat you like a peer
7 .) If there was one aspect he could improve on as a parent, it would be that:
  1. He can get silly even when a situation calls for seriousness.
  2. He focuses too much on work and ends up neglecting you.
  3. He sometimes gives complicated advice when all you want are simple answers.
  4. He gives you too much free reign on your decisions, which sometimes makes you feel hesitant and confused.
8 .) What's the best advice your dad has ever given you?
  1. Be happy.
  2. Never give up.
  3. Push your limits.
  4. Learn from your mistakes.
9 .) Which of these movies would you and your dad watch on Father's Day?
  1. About a Boy
  2. The Descendants
  3. Big Fish
  4. Mrs. Doubtfire
10 .) Your mom and dad just had a fight because of something he did. How does he make things up to her?
  1. He makes her lambing until she gives in and forgives him.
  2. He buys her a present and takes her out to dinner at her favorite restaurant.
  3. He plans an elaborate apology and even enlists your help to make sure everything happens correctly.
  4. He apologizes immediately and gives her a hug and a kiss.
