The 19-year-old swimmer talks about what she learned from her mom, and mom Susan Paler shares her parenting tips. By Liana Smith-Bautista

All moms hope to someday see their children pursue their dreams on a global scale, but few get to see these hopes become reality. Susan Paler counts herself as one of the blessed ones; she gets to watch her 19-year-old daughter, Jasmine Alkhaldi, swim for the gold in the 100-meter freestyle competition at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
