The journey of the RH Bill has truly been a long and arduous one. It has spurred countless debates and tremendous support since it was first introduced, but it continues to remain significant, as the issue of reproductive health will always be a relevant concern for us Pinoys. Just last month, the Senate has officially terminated the period of interpellation, ending a year's worth of explanations on the bill's policies.

If passed, the bill will be able to protect more mothers and their babies from pregnancy risks. It will help prevent unintended pregnancies and keep abortion rates low. Support for health facilities will be provided and everyone—rich or poor—will have access to better reproductive health care.

Thanks to the tireless people behind the RH bill, Filipinos have been gradually introduced to the concept of better family planning, of women’s rights, and of reproductive health awareness, among others.

On August 7, 2012, the journey of the RH Bill is finally coming to an end, as the country’s lawmakers are scheduled to vote on the bill's passage. What about you? Do you think the RH Bill should be passed?
