The Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) will be conducting a gender-sensitivity investigation over Anne Curtis’s allegedly provocative performance on the February 24 episode of ASAP 18, PEP.ph reports.

Anne, who had appeared to be wearing a black strapless gown, had performed Rihanna’s hit song “Diamonds” while being showered with water. The gown’s slit, which went up to her waist, had prompted many netizens to ask whether the actress was wearing underwear during her performance.

Anne later told ABS-CBN News that her outfit, which was done by designer Boom Sason, was actually meant to be an illusion.

"Boom of course knows what I was wearing, and that's actually what our theme was eh,” she was quoted as saying. “Because when I said I was going to get wet, kailangan may hidden tan na swimsuit because it has to have that illusion na high slit, so na-achieve naman namin. At least the illusion worked 'di ba (Because when I said I was going to get wet, there has to be a hidden tan swimsuit because it has to have the high slit illusion, so we were able to achieve that. At least the illusion worked, right?)?”

Anne also posted photos of her outfit on the image-sharing website Instagram revealing that the dress has two parts: a tanga bodysuit and a long skirt. She likewise brushed off the speculations about her lack of underwear, saying that she had learned her lesson after her controversial wardrobe malfunction in 2010.

"For the people who really are believing it, come on naman. I've already had my fair share of wardrobe malfunctions, so I think I've learned from that lesson.”
