Would you eat car-baked cookies?

Jul 31, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

cookies.jpgApparently, it's now possible to bake using your car, provided that you're doing it in an extremely hot day. In Southern California, some folks really use their cars as ovens!

According to this blog, it's important to park the car in a way that the dashboard can get full sun exposure for a long time--which, I think, wouldn't be difficult for us in Manila, especially during the summer months. 95F should do it, as the blog indicates. To monitor the temperature, you can also use an oven thermometer. It's good to expect that the cookies would take a longer time to bake, so you have to make sure to check the cookies often.

While the technique takes some time to perfect, it still looks fun to try. Plus, it saves a lot of energy and electricity, since it only needs heat from the sun to work.

Would you eat cookies baked from a car, however, even if they're not perfectly done?
