The magic of Moleskine

Jul 21, 2008 by FN Blogger Kissa CastaƱeda

moleskine.jpgThough there's Google Calendar and scheduling software in smartphones nowadays, I still find it best to have my own travel notebook and planner. I like it because jotting my schedule down helps me remember my appointments, but also because writing it in my Moleskine means I can look back on it forever.

I first discovered them through my friend Gio, when he gave the basic black notebook to me as a despidida present. It looked so simple, and I suppose that's the primary reason why I liked and eventually got hooked on them. Later, I started using the diary, and also gave them away as presents. Moleskines are just notebooks, yes, but it's a legendary one. It was used by creatives like Van Gogh and Hemingway to hold their thoughts, sketches and random entries. While I do not get a molecule of creativity from having and using a Moleskine myself, I find comfort in notebookism and believe that it is a tradition that should remain alive.
