Many urbanites live in cramped studios with barely enough space to breathe, and this has resulted in a myriad ways of maximizing living space. From fold-up tables to dual-purpose furniture, interior design experts have suggested numerous creative ways to prettify and widen our personal space.

I find, however, that not a lot of attention is paid to lighting. The effect of lighting in a space is immense. Case in point: a cramped room on the first floor is more depressing than a cramped room on the fifth floor where natural light comes in.
Aside from considering the amount of natural light that comes through, one must also think about the appropriate lighting for a space. Not only does it give a space more life, it also uplifts (or changes) one's mood. Simple table lamps or shell lamps each offer a different atmosphere plus add a stamp of your personality as well.
