Films set in Spain, such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona, make us long to be in that wondrous locale—sipping vino, going on road trips, and basking in the warm Mediterranean climate.

Besides being a tourist hotspot, Spain is also considered one of the best dining destinations in the world, with four of its restaurants ranking among the top 10.

If you can’t afford to visit Spain just yet, you can live vicariously through the travels of Hollywood celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow, culinary master Mario Batali, New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman, and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols as they zigzag their way across Spain in search of good food.

Spain…On the Road Again is a 13-part food and travel miniseries now showing on the Asian Food Channel every Tuesday night at 9PM.

The program features the motley crew of four as they go on an unscripted road trip across Spain. They traverse countryside towns, historic places, and metropolitan spots to breathe in Spanish art, music, history, lifestyle, and of course, gastronomy.

Watch as culinary experts Batali and Bittman relish their food and wine fix, with svelte and lovely Paltrow and Bassols gamely joining them in this gluttonous getaway.

The stars of Spain…On the Road Again also take in cultural sights and sounds with a little help from celebrated icons. Architect Frank Gehry accompanies Paltrow and Batali on a tour of his creation, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, while REM frontman Michael Stipe joins the duo for dinner. Meanwhile, famous Spanish chef Juan Marie Arzac spends an evening with Bittman and Bassols.

Grammy-winning musician Willie Nelson provides the theme song for the program: his “On the Road Again” sets the mood at the beginning of the show.

Catch Spain…On the Road Again every Tuesday night at 9PM on the Asian Food Channel, available on Sky Cable Channel 58.
