Jose Rivera's Marisol
The University of the Philippines-Diliman and the Theatre Arts and the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) are presenting Rody Vera's Filipino adaptation of Jose Rivera's Marisol, a surreal tale of an apocalyptic Philippines collapsing from the pressures of poverty and violence. Starring Marjorie Lorico, Mailes Kanapi, Niccolo Manalo, and Sigrid Bernardo, Marisol runs from May 14 to 17 at the Teatro Hermogenes Yalagan, Faculty Center, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

Avenue Q's Farewell Run
If you missed its runs in August and December last year, you still have the chance to watch this hilarious musical involving puppets and humans a la Sesame Street this June. The Tony Award-winning musical by Bobby Lopez and Jeff Marx is returning to the stage for their last leg in Manila from June 14-21, 2008 at the RCBC Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium. You can buy tickets from Atlantis Productions at 892-7078 or 840-1187, or through Lorna Lopez via e-mail at cranegoddesscorp@gmail.com.

Lea is Cinderella
Remember that Cinderella musical film starring Brandy and our very own Paolo Montalban? Now, Lea Salonga stars in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella for Broadway Asia Entertainment from July 29 to August 24 this year--which for us is already enough reason to watch it! We can't get enough of Lea. It's too bad Paolo won't be her Prince, though, but Australian actor Peter Saide makes a dreamy prince himself. Tickets range from P500 to P7000, and are now available in all major Ticketworld outlets. you can call 891-9999 for inquiries and reservations.
