More surprising sex trivia

Jul 22, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

Our previous post about sex trivia got you girls curious! It seems we never tire of seemingly silly trivial facts, so here's another batch of some strange things we've learned about sex that we'd like to share with you.

  • Guess which country leads the figures when it comes to condom sales? Right now, it's Japan, where condoms are even sold door to door!
  • Caucasian women and women with college degrees are more receptive to anal sex, compared to women without college education. Who knew that race and education had anything to do with preferences for sexual methods?
  • Seventy per cent of women would rather eat chocolate than have sex. (So the chocolate theory in Down with Love was actually true? Tell us what you think!)
  • Some men don't need to worry about losing their libido upon hitting 70, as 73% of men at this age are still potent. Thirty per cent of women over the age of 80, meanwhile, still have sexual intercourse with their partners.
  • Sex can be a beauty treatment. Tests have found that sex helps women produce more estrogen, which smoothens the skin and makes hair shine more.
  • Napoleon's penis was sold to an American urologist for $40,000 at an auction in 1969.
  • The word "pornography" comes from Greece, meaning the "writing of prostitutes."
  • What do most women admire most in a man's body? His buttocks.
  • Male and female rats may have sex twenty times a day. A female can produce up to twelve litters of twenty rats a year: one pair of rats has the potential for having 15,000 descendants in a year.
  • The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time television were Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
  • Ever wondered what scents can give men an erection? Take note of these: lavender, licorice, chocolate, doughnuts, and pumpkin pie.
