More films, plays coming this month

laboheme_poster.jpg* Instituto Cervantes begins October with a fresh round of films as it launches Pelicula, the seventh Spanish film festival, tomorrow in Greenbelt 3 cinemas. Catch the Philippine premiere of 18 movies from Spain and Latin America and get the chance to talk to two visiting film directors whose films are featured in the festival. Click here to see the list of films and the schedule which will run up to October 12.

* If you love Rent, Jonathan Larson's rock opera, check out the Philippine Opera Company's production of La Boheme, the popular opera that inspired Rent. La Boheme runs from October 3 to 5 only at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

* Floy Quintos' Isang Panaginip na Fili for Dulaang UP has been extended, with shows on Oct. 2, Thursday, at 7PM, and Oct. 4, Saturday, at 10AM and 3PM at the Guerrero Theater, Palma Hall, UP Diliman. For tickets, call 0917-8874868.

* The Yuchengco Museum unveils the exhibit Mukhang Tsinoy: Portraits by Fernando Amorsolo tomorrow, 6PM at the RCBC Plaza. Portraits by National Artists Ang Kiukok, Vicente Manansala, and Bencab, as well as Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Romulo Galicano, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, Ting Ping Lay, and Ephraim Samson will also be featured in the exhibit.

* The Tanghalang Pilipino Actors' Company is staging three one-act plays for its acting recitals at the CCP Bulwagang Amado V. Hernandez on October 3 to 4 at 8PM and October 4 to 5 at 3PM. Contact Paolo Perez 0920-9535381 for ticket reservations.
