Jun 26, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

Watching High School Musical is a tween guilty pleasure that most of us love to indulge in. And just when you thought you've had quite enough of these singing and dancing teens, here comes the High School Musical On Ice Tour!

Dubbed as the biggest back-to-school event of the year, the Ice Tour has already thrilled millions of fans across America and Europe, and is set to take Asia by storm as it opens its first Asian show in Manila. The ice tour, which fuses songs, dance, and team-spirited fun from the original Emmy Award-winning Disney movie, will feature music from the High School Musical soundtrack in two acts--the first act focusing on the first film, while the second act covers the second film in two hours.

A distinguished set of talented Olympic skaters headline the cast of this ice show. "We chose skaters who could really relate to the characters, so that the performances would be really authentic, raw, and energetic," said Eric Gravelle, Regional Marketing Director for South East Asia and India of Feld Entertainment, the producers of the highly-anticipated tour.

"These talented Olympic skaters will heat up the ice as the dance floor, so it's sure to be an unprecedented twist on a fan favorite," said Nicole Feld of Feld Entertainment.

Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour runs from July 11 to 20 at the Araneta Coliseum. Ticket prices are set at P1340, P1190, P900, P640, P350, and P150. For reservations, call Ticketnet at 911-5555 or log on to www.ticketnet.com.ph. For more updates on the ice tour, you can also visit www.highschoolmusicaltheicetour-asia.com.
