Japan - Seeing vendo machines in every block is normal here in Tokyo, but spotting one devoted to a single product is something out of the blue.

In a busy corner in Ginza, between gigantic department stores Mitsukoshi and Matsuya, are two machines offering nothing except Evian bottled water. It is a cool idea: to bombard people with your brand name using a vehicle that is, more often than not, ignored. With the sheer variety of drinks in Japan, this is indeed a clever ploy to attract attention.

Recently, the brand tried to capture consumer interest with an ad called "the 6-week campaign." It suggested that drinking a lot of Evian water would help you trim your weight in as short as six weeks.
While I highly doubt the effectiveness of a water diet, I think the vendo idea works especially for bored (and thirsty) pedestrians.
