Dining at Eastwood City Walk: A flavorful, cross-cultural experience

As much as we’d like to jet-set around the world and breathe in different cultures, the immense distance, lack of time, and our groaning finances put a halt to our dreams. It’s a good thing we can experience at least their culinary delights-all in one place at that.

Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City is home to a great mix of Eastern and Western food fare. From Mexican to Vietnamese, foodies will find something to savor in this lifestyle haunt. Check out FemaleNetwork’s guide to food tripping around the world at Eastwood.

Agave Mexican Cantina

More than being the home of delicious Mexican comfort food, Agave also happens to be a fun hangout for different folks. On weekends, Agave transforms into a party place that plays house, techno, and R&B music. Wednesdays are Salsa Señorita Nights, where ladies score free cocktails and patrons get to shimmy with salsa dancers.

If you’re dining with a group, order Nacho Grande (P305), which pulls out all the stops in the nacho department. A huge heap of corn chips is smothered with Mexican cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeños, refried beans, and your choice of taco-beef or grilled jalapeño chicken.

Try Plato Supremo (P695), a feast of different dishes big enough for three to four people. Plato Supremo includes Beef Taquitos, Chicken Quesadilla, Three-bean Empanaditas, lime-cilantro rice, Mexican red rice, blue and yellow corn chips, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and salsa.

If you’re on a date, share the scrumptious Agave Fried Ice Cream (P65) with your honey. Take turns feeding each other fried vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Feeling a little frisky? Get loaded on Agave’s Cancun Margarita (P180) or Fresh Fruit Mojitos (P175) that come in strawberry, mango, and pineapple.

For more information, contact Agave at (02) 912-6989 or visit www.agavecantina.com
