Chicane returns to Manila on Saturday

Sep 24, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

Whoever thought Chicane is a lone DJ spinning mesmerizing tracks would be very surprised to know that the person is actually a band--and you can watch them perform live on stage this Saturday, September 27, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City!

In the late 90s, English musician and record producer Nick Bracegirdle returned to his songwriting roots and came up with "Chicane," a rotating group of singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and flutists, while he assumed his place as bandleader behind the keyboards. Chicane of the hypnotic vocals, calming sea sounds, and moving melodies was born.

In 2007, Chicane released Somersault, an album that became the hybrid of electronic, rock, pop, indie, and other elements that were all made for the dance floor despite its eclectic mix. Since then, Chicane remained a solid act even while Nick has always been in demand as a solo act. When Chicane comes to Manila, Nick won’t be alone, as he and the rest of his musicians will be playing at the Bigfish party on Saturday.

Be sure to catch Chicane in this rare occasion!
