Zsa Zsa to Undergo Surgery on August 27

The cancer-stricken singer is asking Filipinos to pray for her successful surgery.

Singer Zsa Zsa Padilla, who was recently diagnosed with stage one kidney cancer, is set to undergo surgery in the United States on August 27 to remove the tumor in her kidney.

"Laparoscopic surgery will be performed -- four holes," she was quoted as saying in an article by ABS-CBNNews.com. “Two days sa hospital then follow up. After a week I can fly out na. I can work after four weeks, faster recovery. At least I can go back to work."

"After six months follow up, unless the pathologist says otherwise--meaning if it isn't stage one after biopsy--then every year check-up na ako,” she added. “What I have is T1A, it's a low for of stage one cancer, unless the pathologist says otherwise after surgery.”

The Divine Diva has also asked her countrymen to pray for the success of her operation, which is scheduled at 10 p.m., Manila time. She also said she is hoping that her surgery won’t have any complications. “I draw strength from all of you. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat at sana please continue to pray for me para maging successful ang aking sugery at walang maging complication (Thank you so much, and please continue to pray for me so my surgery will be successful and free of conplications),” she was quoted as saying in a taped interview aired on the Sunday talk show The Buzz.

Her eldest daughter, Karylle, is also flying to the States on the morning of August 27 to be with her mother.

Eric Quizon, who is the son of Zsa Zsa’s longtime partner Dolphy, also said that their whole family will be there to support Zsa Zsa through this difficult time. Zsa Zsa has two children with the late Comedy King, Zia and Nicole.

Siyempre family namin si Zsa Zsa, she’s part of the family,” Eric said. “'Yung mga kapatid ko sa America, 'yung mga kapatid ko sa San Francisco, pupunta din sa LA, bibisitahin siya (Of course Zsa Zsa’s a member of our family, she’s part of the family. My siblings in America, my siblings in San Francisco, they’ll also go to LA to visit her.).”

“Iba ang will power ni Zsa Zsa so I know she will overcome this. Kaming pamilya, alam namin at umaasa kami na makakarecover si Zsa Zsa sa kundisyong ito (Zsa Zsa’s willpower is different so I know she will overcome this. We, her family, know this and are hoping that Zsa Zsa will recover from this condition.).”
