Zsa Zsa Padilla to Return to the Philippines After Successful Surgery

The singer-actress is recovering quickly after undergoing an operation to remove a tumor in her kidney, according to her daughter Karylle.

Karylle said her mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla, will be coming home to the Philippines today, September 7, after undergoing an operation in the United States to remove a tumor that was found in her kidney.

“She is going home on Friday, she’ll be here on Friday,” the Kitchen Musical star was quoted as saying in an article by PEP.ph. “And sabi niya, siguro in a month’s time, she’ll be able to work again.”

Karylle also said that the Divine Diva is recovering quickly from her ordeal. “(A) couple of days after, naglalakad na kami sa beach, ang haba na ng nilalakad niya,” she shared. “Nagulat kami sa kung gaano siya kabilis maka-recover, even 'yung mga doctor, mga nurse…  Sabi ko nga, ‘Ikaw ang star patient, not because you’re a star, pero…' Pag sinabi kasing kailangan nakaupo, kailangang maglakad, gagawin niya. Talagang purisgido, nothing will stop her (A couple of days after, we were already walking along the beach, and she was able to walk long distances. We were surprised at how fast she was recovering, even the doctors and the nurses. I told her, ‘You’re the star patient, not because you’re a star, but…’ Because when she’s told she has to sit, she has to walk, she’ll do it. She’s really determined, nothing will stop her.).”

Since the tumor that was removed from Zsa Zsa was benign, there is also no need for her to return to the U.S. for further treatment.

Karylle also wants her mom to know that she’s very proud of her for staying strong despite everything she went through. “I’m so proud that you faced everything head on and you weren’t scared. And you embraced everyone who generously… who shared their hearts, shared their love, shared their prayers with you, and just wish you speedy recovery. Grabe ka, ang lakas mo, ang tapang mo (You’re unbelievable, you’re so strong and brave!)!”
