Zsa Zsa Padilla has revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage one kidney cancer. She shared with ABS-CBNNews.com that she has a malignant growth inside her kidney, which was confirmed by her doctor in the US.

"So when I heard that word 'malignant,' I said, 'Oh man, I have cancer.' I went back the next day for blood work and a scan and it showed the same thing--almost a 3 centimeters growth--and he [the doctor] advised for it to be taken out," Zsa Zsa was quoted in saying.

She is currently seeking treatment at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California and is scheduled to undergo surgery on August 27. Zsa Zsa left for the US last week to get a second opinion on her condition, and it is where she commemorated the 40th day of the passing of her longtime partner, Dolphy.

Despite her current situation, the Divine Diva has chosen to remain strong and positive, as she looks forward to her speedy post-operation recovery. In the noontime talk show KrisTV, her close friend Kris Aquino shared a recent text message from Zsa Zsa, which read, "After a week, I can fly out na. I can work after four weeks. Faster recovery, at least I can go back to work. After six months, follow-up, unless pathologist says otherwise. Meaning, if it is not stage one after biopsy."

Furthermore, Zsa Zsa expressed her strong resolve to return home cancer-free. "When I get home, I no longer want to say that I have cancer. After surgery, I want to be able to say, 'I am a cancer survivor.'"
