Willie Revillame shocked the audience of the TV5 show Wil Time Bigtime during its November 20 airing when he said he will make an important announcement next year regarding the fate of the show.

“January 5, abangan ninyo, mag-a-announce ako ng desisyon kung ako'y magtutuloy pa sa programang ito,” he was quoted by PEP.ph as saying during the said episode. “January 5, mag-a-announce po ako sa buhay ko... Talagang i-a-announce ko na kung ano ang gusto kong gawin. January 5 'yan (Don't miss out the January 5 episode, as I’ll announce my decision on whether I’ll continue with this program. On January 5, I’ll announce something about my life… On January 5, I’ll definitely announce what I really want to do.).”

Though Willie did not elaborate on the details his important announcement, he did reveal that January 5 might be his last day on the show and that he had already said his goodbyes to the TV5 management. “Sa lahat ng aking staff, mga dancers, basta kayo ay maghanap-hanap na ng dapat ninyong puntahan. Ia-announce ko kung bakit, kung anong rason. Basta malalaman ninyo… January 5,” he said. “Pero magmula ngayong araw hanggang sa Pasko po, magbibigay ako ng todo-todong papremyo sa inyo—'yung mga huling araw ko dito. Akala ninyo nagbibiro ako? Seryoso ako... may huling araw po ako dito—January 5 (To all my staff  and my dancers, you should start looking for another job. I’ll announce the reason why, you’ll know it on January 5. But from today until Christmas, I’ll be giving away so many prizes to you—these are my last days here. You think I’m kidding? I’m serious… January 5 is going to be my last day on this show.).”

Nagpaalam na ako sa management. Sabi nila, ‘Ikaw ang bahala, 'yan ang desisyon mo,’” he continued. “Ayoko ko kayong biglain. Gusto ko, dahan-dahan. Basta magmula ngayon, enjoy muna tayo. Hindi ko alam kung aabutin pa ako ng January 5 (I have already said goodbye to the management. They said, ‘It’s up to you, that’s your decision.’ I don’t want to shock you. I want to take it slow. But from now on, let’s just enjoy. I don’t know if I’ll last until January 5.).”
