Vilma Santos on Her and Anne Curtis: "Kahit ganito ang boses namin, bayad kami!"

The Star for All Seasons laughed as she talked about comparisons between her and the Princess of All Media.

Batangas governor Vilma Santos couldn't help laughing as she answered press queries about the comparisons between her and actress Anne Curtis, PEP.ph reports. Besides their dancing abilities, people are reportedly saying the two stars' courageousness when it comes to singing are similar as well. Anne recently held a sold-out concert at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

"Pareho naman kami. Kita naman ng ginagawa ko noon sa Vilma! [variety show] (We're similar. It's evident in what I used to do for Vilma!)," she is quoted as saying. "Sa totoo lang, yung lakas ng loob ni Anne, e, yun din ang lakas ng loob ko noon. Kumakanta rin naman ako noon sa Vilma!. (In all honesty, our plucky attitudes are similar. I used to sing on Vilma! as well.)"

"At saka 'wag nilang apihin na kahit ganito ang boses namin, e, bayad kami! (And they shouldn't look down on us because even though our voices are like this, we get paid!)" she added. "Kaya 'wag nila akong apihin. Parang si Anne din ngayon, di ba? Kaya ako nakasuporta sa kanya--kasi ganun din naman ako noon. (So they shouldn't look down on me. That's just like how Anne is doing now, right? That's why I support her--because I went through the same thing before.)"

Vilma even openly related what jests she received about her voice before. "Yung boses ko raw, parang pinupupunit na yero (They said my voice sounded like iron sheets being torn apart)," she said.

But the Star for All Seasons remained strong in the face of their criticism. "Sabi ko noon sa kanila na, 'Maaari nga akong may pinakapangit na boses, pero ang boses ko, e, bayad.' Ang dami ngang magagandang boses, e, hindi naman sila bayad! (I told them, 'I might have the ugliest voice, but I still get paid for it.' There are a lot of people with beautiful voices out there, but they don't get paid!)" she said, laughing.
