Tim Yap Gives Heart Evangelista Advice on Her Breakup with Daniel Matsunaga

News broke out about actress Heart Evangelista and model Daniel Matsunaga's breakup on April 14 when both celebrities took to Twitter to express their feelings.

"Just asking God ....Why? I tried," Daniel tweeted on his account, @dmatsunaga. He added, "Can't be happy at this moment guys...God bless you all...thanks for the words....I am sure you all know what is happening."

Meanwhile, Heart tweeted about breakups and embracing singlehood without mentioning any names. "Breakups don't always mean the other one was bad or we didn't love each other. It could just be…we were too different," she said on her Twitter account, @heart021485.

While neither Heart nor Daniel has spoken to the media about their breakup, Heart's friend and Legacy co-star Tim Yap relayed his views about the situation in an interview with PEP.ph.  The eventologist-TV host said he was there for Heart as a friend and made efforts to take her out in order to cheer her up. "Lately, we’ve been hanging out. Kapag break sa taping namin, nando’n kami sa beach na location namin. (When there's a break during taping, we just hang out at the beach, which is where we're filming.)"

He also shared the advice he gave Heart. "Ang sinasabi ko kay Heart, 'Kung ano ‘yong status mo ngayon sa buhay, you make the most out of it, i-enjoy mo,'" he is quoted as saying. "'Kung nagkataon na single ka ngayon, make the most out of it—learn from your singlehood. At kung may minamahal ka naman, ituloy mo.' (I told Heart, 'Whatever your status is in life, you make the most out of it. Enjoy it. If you're single now, make the most out of it--learn from your singlehood. And if you have someone you love, just continue loving him.')"

Tim added that, in the end, it was pursuing happiness that was important. "Kung ikasasaya ni Heart na maging single muna ngayon, e, di she should pursue that. (If being single makes her happy, then she should pursue that.)"

He refused to mention details about what really happened between Heart and Daniel and said that the public never really knows what happens behind closed doors. "Kahit napaka-fairy tale na ng mga nakikita nating nangyayari sa buhay ng mga artista o sa mga kaibigan natin, may mga ibang bagay na siguro hindi naaayos o hindi nagkakaroon ng closure. (Even if you see a celebrity or friend's life as something out of a fairy tale, there are just some things that don't get fixed or don't get closure.)"
